The touch screen of my lg chocolate vx8500g is not working

I have tried turning off the phone, locking and unlocking the keys, and doing a master reboot that somebody suggested on another question but nothing works!!! the touch sensors on the front that allow me to open my menu and make calls are not working. i can use the side keys and the number keys but i cannot do anything that requires me to use the front touch screen. please let me know of anything i can try to fix my phone. thanks

    we have two choclates and have the same problem ; tried master reboot as well ; any advice apprecieated!

    its the same thing. i can press and use all of the side buttons and the numbers but when i have to use the touch screen it wont let me into my phone. i cant use my phone now because of the touch screen.

    the touch part just randomly stopped working so now its really hard to txt

You need a new screen ribbon. there not to hard to change if your electronicly mech. inclined. Most probs. with the chocolate's screens are due to this ribbon. They can be purchesed online for around $10 for an aftermarket. I heard they work just as good.

Your phone can be "REPAIRED" by LG if it is within the first 12 months of purchase. After that, from the manufacturer, your on your own. I have a phone a friend gave me to switch over to. My contacts are all lost. :(

I have a LG Chocolate Touch... It had been working fine, I recently put a lock code on it... I still remember the password but now my touch screen isnt working... It hasnt been dropped nor fell in water so...
Hard reset SHOULD work:

Settings (and tools on some phones)--->Phone Settings--->Security Setting--->Master Reset (it may be called something else, but it will be clear).

Touchpad unlock
im not sure what your problem is , I think your saying your touchpad is locked and your screen is white so you cant get it unlocked correct....its either if you hold star in or its the pund sign in and it unlocks the key pad worse case take the battery out and put it back in..... but i work for verizon and you can take that phone in and they will swap it out for you just tell them you didnt do anything physicial to it damage wise and be nice to them because that was a defest on the original chocolate..

White screen!!
my lg's camera started to turn my phone off, i do tech work for a wireless company and when i was trouble shooting my own phone as a test i went to my camera and my screen went blank! i tryed every thing, but the master reset. because my screen is blank i need to know the number i will have to enter to get it reset from the key pad.

I FORGOT MY CODE TO UNLOCK MY PHONE
Dial *4357*4357 and then that should give you the phone number and then just use the last 4 digits to unlock it
