NS-P10DVD "No Disc" error on DVD player after "loading" and spinning for several minutes, then player just turns off.

Unit plays commercial DVDs okay but not those created on my PC. Is there a specific codec/format I should use to create the DVD?

Make sure that your player can support the type of DVD you use for burning. And for fixing "no disc" error, you could try to use a lint-free cloth and some denatured alcohol or water to clean the disc and remove any dust or smudges that may prevent the player from reading it properly. Reinsert the disc into the player and press "Play" to see if cleaning the disc fixes the "NO DISC" error.

The laser reader must be burned out. Unless this is a very expensive machine just replace it.

Disc error message when load DVD

Are you loading to play or to record?
Commercial DVDs should play.
DVDs for recording may not be recognized by your drive. First make sure that the disc is blank. You must insert a blank disc of the proper format: DVD-R or RW, DVD+R or RW. Even with the proper format, some brands may not behave the same way as other brands.

Cannot Play Commercially Produced DVDs (Panasonic DMR-ES40V)

Dear FixYa Team,

Thanks for your inquiry re my problem.

Since I posted, I THINK I may have solved my problem. I unplugged the unit for an hour or so, plugged it in again, and it DID play a "commercial" DVD that I had tried earlier. I don't know if this is a permanent solution -- we'll see. If not, I'll take the next step in seeking some help.

Thanks again.

Bad disc

I have the same problem with some of the Discs I have burned. Most people say the power supply, but I have 2 of these units so I swapped the power supply to see if that was it. The problem stayed in the one machine, ruling out the power supply.

My DVD player wont read a disc

There are several things you can do to try and solve your problem: Make sure that the DVDs you try to play are encoded for the right region. Make sure that the transportation lock (usually a plastic screw on the bottom of the unit), is not engaged. Turn off player with disc inserted, unplug temporarily from wall outlet, plug back in and turn back on.
