When answering mode is on I do not want to hear the ringing(4x) tones before going to answering.I've switched off the 'call screen' option. still I hear the ringing although not recording at least.

Just set the ringing volume to off.
You can choose from four ringer volume settings (off, low, medium, and high) separately on each handset or the base.
With the phone in standby, press or on the handset or VOLUME or VOLUME on the base. The handset or base sounds the ringer at that level. Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make the ringer volume louder. Use on the handset or VOLUME on the base to make it softer or turn it completely off.
Note: If you set the ringer volume to Off, the handset or base won't ring. Other handsets or base will ring according to their individual settings

Sound not working when ringing

It could be that your volume is set to silent. The volume buttons should be on the left or right side just push the top part of the button you should hear your phone ring or beep or make some kind of noise when u do this.

For incoming calls the phone rings but I cannot hear the caller. The volume is set to the maximum. For outgoing call I cannot hear the ring tone nor the person receiving the call.

Sounds like you reciever speaker is out. It might be cheaper to get a new phone than fix this one. Check with out a local cell repair store to see what they charge then make an informed decision.

How to increase ringing volume and hearing volume

When you are receiving a call use the up/down or left/right rocker (the squarish thingy around the circular button in the middle) to increase/decrease the volume. This also works for the speaker volume if you have the speaker on.

Can't hear the Ring

Hello, Push the center button(in the middle of the four directional arrows). Scroll over to the screwdriver/wrench icon and select it. Scroll down to the "Audio" line and select it. Scroll down to "Loud Detail" and select it. Set "Ring Volume" to a higher number(I use 7). Have someone call you and you should be set. If this doesn't work, with the phone open, look at the two buttons on the left side of the phone, push the top button until you have your desired ring volume. Good luck!
