Power supply board is the first one to check, then the main board. The power supply board has to have all the voltages present. The main board controls the power-up signal on power supply board.

Yamaha htr 5740 reciever i turn it on and it sounds like it powers up cause it clicks on but no display in the front panel

“it sounds like it powers up cause it clicks on but no display in the front panel” NO,it does not sound like power up due to "no display in the front panel" The relay controlling AC line power connected to LARGE POWER TRANSFORMER DOES NOT switch ON with the exception of voltage for FL tube(front panel) is down.

Check standby board (AC inlet board) that is its reset signal and AC_PWR_DET are of paramount important. REMEMBER TO CHECK THOSE NON POLAR CBB Capacitors (their capacitances.)4bae7964-7459-4ded-b909-319dfd2698e3.jpg

Audio Receiver only makes one "Clicking" sound when I push the power button

Definitely sounds like a relay... How old is your unit? Sometimes they get stuck and need a good cleaning with DeOxit. Good luck!

I accidentially hit a button on the remote on my Yamaha receiver, now there is no sound coming out of the speakers on the surround sound

Examine the indicators on the panel carefully. I'm sure a clue is there. Maybe a wrong source, mute, speakers off, tape or 6-channel input activated?

Select FM, tune a station, leave the volume set midway and use THAT as a troubleshooting tool. Eventually, you'll find the switch or button.

I've had the same "clicking but not power" problem on 2 Yamaha HTR receivers. Push the power button and the receiver lights up for a couple of seconds and immeadiatly powers down. There is an audible...

Sounds like the unit is set to shutdown if it detects a short in the amplifier. The problem can be within the supply but it is most likely in the amp section of the unit. Transistors will go out over time and need to be replaced. Find a local repair shop and have them estimate the repair for you. the cost on something like this can be in the 70.00 range depending on shop rates in your area and the extent of the problem.

Htr 5590

Mine played for about and hour then cut off. It would cut off randomly after this hour. I initially thought it was overheating but after seeing other people had it happen after immediate turn on it must not be the case. Intermittent problems like this are difficult to troubleshoot which is why I came to this site hoping someone had found a simple answer. I am a technician and will have to do it the hard way. When I find the answer I will report my findings to this site.
