How to move to position to change out cartridges 950C HP

HI ,

Hope somebody can help, my text is printing the top half of the script blurred but the bottom half is clear! My printer is a canon ip2600. I have newish cartridges and everything has been cleaned and aligned. Cheers

are they genuine HP cartridges ?
If they are refills the chip inside the cartridge has not been reset to say its full

You might be able to use a q-tip with alcohol or acetone to loosen and clean residual ink from the inside and bottom of the black printer cartridge tray--I've even had to use compressed air after loosening the junk after my HP sat for a year. Btw, I'm sure you know this, but the contact pads need to be clean and free of factory tape. I hope this helps.

I think I may have another solution. I remember some time ago going to HP to get an update for my 950c printer. I think I read something that said, "If you do not really need to download this update, don't do it." I downloaded it anyway. I think then I begin to get notices saying when my ink was getting low, usually long before it actually did. I am thinking also, the same software that gave me those readings, also may have read the color cartridge (and possibly also black) may have caused the printer to turn on the blinking resume (orange light). I then deleted the updated software and reinstalled the original software that came with my computer or old application for the printer. I restarted my computer and tried it again. The blinking light did come on at first; then I realized I had not set the printing format to black only. I also disconnected my printer both and module and power for about five minutes. Still not sure since I just did this, but the orange light is not coming on and the printer prints. LOL, I am low on black ink though.

Make sure you have taken the protective tape off the cart printhead. make sure levers are down correctly and nothing is jamming the side travel of the head. It is possible you have defective cartridges.

I use a clear silicone tube to carefully prime the carts by sucking a dab of ink out of the tiny print holes before installation. I am careful to have a tight seal at the holes to prevent getting too much ink and possibly getting it in my mouth.

It is a problem with the mechanic.

i suggest you inspect the bottom, to see if anything is compromising the connection pad.

Assuming that you have the correct print drivers and the color is set correctly on your software. Then the issue is often caused by the ink drying and clogging the injectors. Open the lid and remove the ink cartridges, then unplug the printer. Then get a swab or Q tip and using bottled water (do not use tap water). Moisten the swab and wipe the areas on the printer where the ink cartridge contacts the printer. You should see ink on the swab. After you let it completely dry then place the cartridge back in and turn the printer back on. Try to print again. If it is still not printing with the correct colors then you could have a problem with the injector circuitry. At that point it is cheaper to buy a new printer. You can get refurbished ink jet Dell printers at Dell.com under outlet for usually $30-$40 and a one year warranty.

1st thing would be to remove the cartridge & check for any damage to the copper contacts as these are what tell the printer that a new cart has been installed. Next make sure you removed the tape covering the nozzles (I've done this before & boy do you feel silly).

If this all looks OK then pull the power out while the cart is still not fitted (this will fully reset the printer).

Once it comes back up, try fitting the cart again also checking that the contacts in the cartridge holder are not damaged/dirty.

This should sort the problem
