Question about Toshiba Televison & Video
I have a toshiba tv 39al900a which was won in a raffle. When you turn it on it says please scan channels. The remote is not working with the tv. What should I do? I can't bring up the menu from the tv 4 keys power, vol +, vol - and Input.
The first step is to make sure you have good batteries in the remote. The ones included tends to be cheap and you have no idea how old they are.
Here is the manual, page 12 explains how to use the remote and the next few pages cover the initial setup and scanning of channels.
If the remote is still not working, get a universal remote to replace it. This link gets you the codes to program the universal to work with your TV. http://codesforuniversalremotes.com/universal-remote-control-codes-toshiba-tvs/

Testimonial: "I've put in new batteries and still doesn't work. I've tested the remote using the phone camera and it emits light. How do I access the setup menu without the remote. Thanks for your reply."
