When someone calls in on the night service ring and pushes in an extension...it does not go to the extension they all stay at the main phone voice mail. How do I fix this on an avaya partner phone system?

Well, the night selector codes may not be set correctly. What happens now when you casll at night? Does it go to the night AA? Or a mailbox? Spell out exactly what is happening so we can help you quicker.Well, the night selector codes may not be set correctly. What happens now when you casll at night? Does it go to the night AA? Are these call from the outside? If so, it sounds like the Night Service is turned on. If not and these are extension calls then the Do Not Disturb is probably on.
On the extension that is forwarding use Feature #4 to cancel the call forwarding unless it is programmed under the capabilities section in programming. This will require someone with programming ability to make the forwarding change back to the voice mail access number.
Contact your Service Customer Supporter by dialling your respective Service Company Customer Care(Airtel/Aircel/etc..) or Contact your nearby dealer. Actually its a problem which is related to your sim.
When you say voice mail, do you mean your personal vmail box or the AutoAttendant? If so you'll need to login to the 998 mailbox and modify the "Custom Service" prompts (menu# 5-3). NOw as far as the ringing goes, you might try doing an extension data clear procedure by doing Intercom -> *790 (I think it's Intercom 7900 on the older systems). Otherwise you should call a local Panasonic Dealer for a service call. Contact me offline for a referral.
On the phone not ringing, just push the volume up button while the phone is not in use, that should adjust the ringer volume. As for the message saying that calls are being routed to an automatic message sertvice, that sounds like a voice mail offering from your service provider, not the phone. Uniden phones have a default greeting that says "Hello, no one is availible to take your call, please leave a message after the tone" Contact your service provider and find out if you have voice mail service on your line. If you do and want to use the answering machine on your phone, you will need the service provider to allow for more rings before the voice mail service takes the call.
For voice mail service subscribers
If you subscribe to a flat-rate service
package that includes Caller ID, call
waiting, voice mail, and unlimited
local/regional/long distance calls, please
note the following:
L To use the voice mail service provided
by your service provider/telephone
company rather than the unit's
answering system, turn off the
answering system (page 30).
L To use this unit's answering system
rather than the voice mail service
provided by your service provider/
telephone company, please contact
your service provider/telephone
company to deactivate your voice mail
service.
If your service provider/telephone
company cannot do this:
- Set this unit's "Ring count"
setting so that this unit's answering
system answers calls before the
voice mail service of your service
provider/telephone company does.
It is necessary to check the number
of rings required to activate the
voice mail service provided by your
service provider/telephone
company before changing this
setting.
- Change the number of rings of the
voice mail service so that the
answering system can answer the
call first. To do so, contact your
service provider/telephone
company.
A solution depends on what you are trying to achieve. Usually they are set up this way so when everyone has gone home the calls go to the voice processing system. If you have people working later, it would be easy to make night mode start later via system programming, which is program number 102 .
Your phone can be programmed to transfer a call to different places and have different rules for day-ring mode and night-ring mode.
Sounds like what you want to do is change your phone to transfer to another extension instead of your voice mail box. This would in effect eliminate your voice mail box because a call would never automatically be sent to it unless you use (and program correctly) night mode.
Your phone model type does not help resolve this. You can have this phone on different Panasonic phone systems. You will need to determine which phone system you have and locate "programming" manual for the specific system (not a user guide)
There should be a section or option called "no-answer forward", "forward timer", "forward extension" etc...
Jennifer209, if you press FEATURE + the button VM is pre-programmed on what does it display? It should show the extension number pilot to VM. If you call it directly, what happens? If you get no answer calling it directly, your VM may be down.
Kaait, is it getting into the VM that's the problem, or doing things inside the mailbox that is the problem?
