In all cases asked. The inverter board on the Sylvania LC427SSX is the problem. If you are capable of fixing the board, the problem on the inverter board are startup resistors. Location of these resistors. Locations are R1217, R1218, and R1219. I do not remember the values at this time. Replacing the inverter board may be the way to go in this case. I had the same problem, I ended up buying an RCA Universal remote, when I had no luck with the codes I tried the autoscan feature, to my surprise it worked perfectly.

its most likely your video fuse in need of replacement it is very cheap part and can usually be installed in minutes so parts and labor are both cheap if you a diy kind of person we can find you a place to order the part from and an exploded view diagram to help you navigate the circuit board

If the backlight is on then either the Main or Digital main are bad. If there is no backlight, press the menu button and use a flashlight to see if it is actually showing the menu. If no, the previous info also applies. If you can see the menu with a flashlight then it is likely that the power supply/ballast is bad.
