I have a loud click noise coming up through the steering on my Invacare Comet. It only happens while passing over the central steering position. It's not very old, or had much use.

hiya may i suggest you inspect the front brakes pads and discs for wear and discs for damage /scoures considering age of vehicle? when was last service inspection on brakes etc? if you do not feel competant to check brakes ? quite understand you could pop along to nearest national tyres depot and ask them to check brakes as above and also driveshaft cv joints for wear as these cv joints also give clicking sound when driving tyre dpot do not usually charge to check but will try to obtain job and give you a quote! if you have diagnosis and £££££?quote ? by all means come back with update and glad to offer help and advice if you wish ? hope this helps you as to probable cause? either way repair/s will not be too expensive best wishes

SOURCE: My power steering goes and comes, loud squeeling

this peice belongs to your power steering pulley its a plastic o\piece that over time brakes off you can either call your dealer and see if its covered by your warranty because its has to be replaced the pats that the plastic belongs on is top pulley you 'll notice powersteering wheel hard to steer and squeeling you must replace part or adjust it so its holding pulley tight itshas grooves in it 2 as a matter of fact if you keep using this pulley with broken plastic it could brake your belt

• Assuming. Your driving a ford,,, I t would be.your clock spring .you have to. Remove your air bag and steering wheel to change it. Ya need a puller for the wheel. Unless your old school. You can pick the. Part up at a junk yard. To save confusion turn your wheel straight before removing the steering wheel.
