My LG Plasma 50PK550 doesn't show a picture when I push the power button. It will also shut off when I push either the Input or channel buttons.

You should have manual buttons on the tv itself to control input and volume. It appears it is defaulting to antenna channel 3 and low volume when first powered on. You can buy universal remotes to control your set.

Have you tried a new HDMI cable? That would be the place to start and at minimal cost.

I just fixed this problem on my tv. it is not the tv it is the cable box. i changed it by pushing the aspect button on my cable remote.

If you notice same problems in all the inputs such as DVD etc., check that the input RC Cables are ok. If you notice problems still, it is better to refer it to a qualified service technician.

Keep pushing the tv input button. This will allow you to cycle back through the other inputs and get you back to your source. When you pushed the button, you changed the source input.

Be sure you are watching the appropriate input. Example, if your cable box is hooked up to HDMI1, be sure TV is set to view HDMI1. Usually found through INPUT button on remote or setting in TV menu. Good luck.

Try pushing the button that says input. It sounds like you got switched to a port with nothing on it.

Another possibility is you need to be on channel 3, but if that is the case, you really should be hooked up with HDMI, or RGB at least. Signals from the cable box through a cable as output gives significantly lower image quality.

On the remote control for the television you should see a button labeled Input. Turn on your DVD player and press the Input button on the TV remote until your picture appears.
