I'm getting an icon that's been swirling on my iphone for over an hour. I can't shut the phone off. This started when my phone would not dial out today and it just hung up.
- phone won't shut off

Press the forth icon on the bottom(looks like a mini keypad). Failing that, force your iPhone to reboot by holding down the home button and the power button til you see the apple on screen(about 10 seconds).
Would need to know the phone model, there should be a way to set previous called numbers to a digit speed dial 1-10 etc. If you have a smartphone, Iphone does speed dial as favorites which are set up in the call menu. Droids have a specific icon for speed dial.
have you jailbroken your iphone? and what firmware are you currently running? and when you press the phone icon does the screen come up for about 5 seconds and then return to the previos screen or does it stay there and you just cant dial?
Press and hold the power/home button till the screen gose black.(before the apple logo appers) then plug iphone into your PC and hold home button down, iTunes will see the iphone as a new phone. Now do a restore on your iPhone in iTunes. Hope this helps!
