My saw runs for only a second or two, then i have to reset start over and over again. Whats wrong?

Need to replace pilot thermocouple lead

check the ignition module. as the saw heats up it causes the inside of the module to expand which causes it to stop producing spark. when it cools off it makes contact again and starts working right

the thermal motor relay is shutting it down,,motor to hot,
insure that all the air vents or saw housing are not full of saw dust. blow it out with air from a reversed hose on a shop vac if you don't have a compressor.

Possibly, or too much, due to a bad coolant sensor. (Assuming it is injected.) You will need to get a scanner hooked up that can read live data to see what temperature the sensor is telling the computer. Also, you should get the fuel pessure tested.

I would suspect the starter relay and starter capacitor. Either the contactor - relay is not "holding" the relay closed or the cap is not.

start with the capacitors. you may have 2, a start and a run capacitor. also you can spray the inside of the motor with WD-40 and turn it by hand until it feels loose.
i was just looking through old post and saw yours.

Either coil is getting hot and shorting out or fuel pump is acting up.

a diesel engine can only cutout when overheating, loss of diesel fuel and air leak in the fuel system. if you know how to bleed or ask somebody to bleed right after it stall, then start the car, if it starts immediately then it is sucking air.

replace or clean the Air filters. Run the lamp reset command if you have.if not solved then check ballast unit which ignites the lamp.

try this also, press the poweroff button on the remote control for ten seconds, the lamp will reset to zero, if you run the projector more than 1100 hours earlier.
