Book Won't Open on Kindle (5th Generation) If your book won't open on your Kindle (5th Generation), or there's an error when you try to open a book, try these troubleshooting steps. Make sure your device is connected to a wireless network.

Just follow these steps:
1.On the lock screen, swipe from the right side edge of the screen.
2.Enter an incorrect password or PIN (at least characters in length) five times.
3.Tap Reset to reset your device to factory defaults.

How to Install the Kindle App for iPad/iPhone The Kindle app can be used on any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch with iOS 3.2 or greater installed. Installing the Kindle App Visit the App Store and download the Kindle app to start reading from your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. To install the Kindle app: 1. Tap the App Store icon on the home screen of your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. You can also get the app through the iTunes Store. 2. Search for "Kindle" or find it in the alphabetical list of apps. 3. Follow the on-screen installation instructions. When installation is complete, tap the Kindle icon on your device to open the reading app. Registering the Kindle App To register your Kindle app, use your existing Amazon account e-mail address and password. If you live outside the United States and use the Kindle application, please see the Using the Kindle App if You Live Outside the United States Help page. Logging into your Amazon.com account through the Kindle app registers your device to your Amazon.com account. Once you sign in during registration, you won't need to do it again -- just open the app to access your Kindle Library. To register: 1. Step 1 - Back Case

• Wedge a plastic opening tool into the lower right corner of the Kindle Fire.
• Pry the case apart and run the plastic opening tool along the perimeter of the Kindle Fire to release the clips securing the case halves to each other.
• If you are having extreme difficulty inserting the plastic opening tool, carefully use a metal spudger to undo the first clip, then switch back to the opening tool to avoid scratching your case.
  • It is helpful to pry the bottom of the Kindle Fire away (and out from the side) from the top part. Exerting too much force attempting to split the two without pulling away can cause the tabs on the inside to crack.

Step 2

• Once you have freed all the plastic clips, pull the back case off the Kindle Fire.

Step 3 - Battery

• Fit the tip of the plastic opening tool between the right battery cell and the Kindle Fire's frame.
• Lever the battery up and work the plastic opening tool down along its edge to release the glue securing it to the frame.

• Repeat the process from the previous step to free the left battery cell.

Step 5

• Lift the back of the battery up to relieve any tension in the battery connector and simultaneously use a spudger to push the battery connector out of its socket.
• Pull the battery out of the Kindle Fire.

Kindle Fire Battery Replacement

Connect your kindle to your PC. When the window pops up for your Kindle options choose "open device to view files". A new window should appear which is the Kindle hard drive icon, double click to open the hard drive. Look for the DCIM folder or the Pictures folder for your pictures. Then copy/cut and paste on you PC.

Register Your Kindle

Connect Kindle to PC via USB Cable. Open in Windows Explorer by going to My Computer and double clicking on kindle drive. Open the documents folder once in kindle drive. In the documents folder you'll see 2 files for each book you own (file extensions .AZW & .MBP). To delete one book you must delete both of its files.
