Gateway W323-UI1 Resolution

When trying to change the resolution of my monitor, my screen simply blacks out about half of my screen on the bottom and right-hand side. I've been searching for someway to solve the problem, because it prevents me from playing most games, but I can't find a solution anywhere.

You can't change the resolution of an LCD monitor, you can either set it in the bios to stretch the image (yuck!), or you can set the game to run at the same resolution as your monitor.

no offense to the other solution, but display drivers don't change lcd resolutions, nice try though...

Change the resolution on my Samsung B2030 LCD Monitor

1600X900 is a higher resolution than that of 1280X1024. Therefore 1600X900 is a better resolution. If you would like to run at the lower resolution simply right click your desktop screen and click properties. Then on the settings tab use the slider bar to adjust the resolution. Lower to the left and higher to the right. If the desired resolution is unavailable then you could try downloading and installing the latest drivers for your graphics card installed in your computer.

Your card will either be AMD/ATI Radeon or Nvidia. You will need the model number of the graphics card, the latest drivers may increase resolution support for your card.

Also look on the bottom right hand side of your screen for an Nvidia Control Panel logo in green. Right click it and select the option to "change screen resolution" This may provide you with additional resolution options.

Take care!

How do I change my computer monitor to 1680 x 1050?

First right-click on the desktop and then left click on Properties from the menu that appears.

The display properties dialogue box will appear as shown in fig. below, click on the settings tab at the top right of the box.

xp-screen-resolution-1.gif

The areas worth noting are: google_protectAndRun("ads_core.google_render_ad", google_handleError, google_render_ad); Screen Resolution
This slide bar is what you use to change the resolution, the options you have will depend on your graphics card and monitor, but the standard options are 800x600, 1024x768 and 1152x864.

Normally the default (in XP) is set to 800x600 which means the display will be 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.

Color Quality
This pull down box will contain the current colour options available, again this will depend on your grahics card and monitor, for best results select the highest option available.
Changing the ResolutionTo change your resolution simply slide the bar along to the resolution of your choice and then click the Apply button.

After clicking Apply your screen will resize to the new resolution and you will be presented with a confirm dialogue box, if you are happy with the way your screen looks then simply click Yes, if you would like to try a different resolution click No.

When you have finished simply close the Display properties box.

My screen resolution is stuck at 640 X 480 and it can't be moved in the display area. Any suggestions?

The resolution of teh screen is controlled by the computer, not the monitor.

Find your display settings in whatever operating system you are using. You will be able to change the resolution there. Easiest way would be to do a Google search for "change resolution in XXXXX" where XXXXX is your operating system. (i.e., Windows XP, Windows 7, Mandrake, etc.)

Screen resolution change = black border around small screen

Once you change the resolution to a smaller size and you see the black border, go into the monitor's menu and there should be settings for the Horizontal and Vertical size/position. Adjust those until it looks correct.

I hope this helps :)

My screen resolution is not like it's supposed to be.

The native resolution of you monitor is 1440x900. If you previously had it set at a lower resolution (say 1280 x 720) the text would appear larger than it does now. You can change the appearance of internet explorer by using the Zoom function (Ctrl +).

Resolution

You need to enter a lower resolution. The monitor you are on is incapable of using a resolution that high. If you cannot get back on you need to start in safemode. Then change the resolution to a lower one that your monitor can handle.

Envision model H190L ser#91077CA000122 cannot change resolution

Mac's a bit differant than windows. To change your screen resolution first change the monitors refresh rate to something like 75 hertz. Than you can change the Screen resolution. Thats how it is done on a windows machine. Than again your Mac might need a video card software update.
