Question about Bosch 23 in. SHU 8805 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Bosch shu8806 Hello, I aquired a shu8806 recently and it doesn't work. It has power and water. I push wash cycle, indicator light comes on, shut door and nothing happens.  So the door switch seemed like a good place to start. Since I am an electrician I thought I would give it a shot. When plugged in, the wire from the motor is 120V but when jumpered to the neutral(common on the door switch), motor doesn't operate. Although, I have heard the motor turn over momentarialy when trying to run unit earlier. Am I testing the door switch properly. I would think that if the wire from the motor is 120v that completing the  circuit would  operate the motor  regardless  of any other problems.  thank you. Paul

The pump may be clogged, or the motor start capacitor may be bad or some units have a fill switch wired inline with the motor so it won't start unless the unit is full

I have a SHU5305us/u12 and my front door lettering got erase. anyone have a picture or a manual that tells me what each button means.

Cycle Interruption

As a safety feature the dishwasher will automatically turn itself off whenever the door is opened. However, if the door is opened quickly while in a wash or rinse cycle some water may splash out of the dishwasher. For this reason it is recommended that the machine always be switched off before opening the door.

To Interrupt a Cycle

1. Press the on/off button to stop operation.

2. Wait at least 10 seconds (or until the water noises stop) before opening the door.

To Resume a Cycle

1. SHU/SHI models, close the door and press the on/off button.

2. SHV models, push the on/off button and close the door.

Changing a Cycle

For Bosch dishwasher models SHI 6800 and 4320, SHU 5300, 5310 and 6800 press the program button of the desired cycle TWICE. For all other Bosch dishwasher models, press the program button of the desired cycle ONCE. The chosen cycle button (or the light above it) becomes illuminated, showing that it has been selected.

* SHU 3030 and SHU 3130 models do not have program lights.

Cancelling a Cycle

Each control panel shows which buttons to simultaneously push to cancel a cycle. Refer to your dishwasher to find the cancel drain buttons on your particular model.

1. Press the indicated buttons at the same time and hold for approximately 3 seconds.

2. When the drain pump noises stop and the LED display or clean light indicate that the end of the cycle has been reached, the dish

washer is reset.

3. Press the on/off button to turn the dishwasher off.

4. The dishwasher is now ready to run a selected cycle. Add more detergent if necessary.

Bosch dishwasher makes noise but doesn't start

When you start a wash cycle on your Bosch dishwasher and it does not work, stay calm. It could be something simple, especially if you just installed it. My Bosch front end washing machine will not start a cycle. Door is closed tightly and when I push start/pause red light comes on & immediately goes off-this happens every time I push the start/pause...

My Bosch washer turns "on" and water runs but it does not spin or complete wash. I hear the machine "clicking" as if it is attempting to to function but no spin or full wash cycle.

After the wash cycle dishwasher beeps

Hello, welcome to FixYa. While I don't have access to my PC files at the moment as I am on my iphone, I believe this is the procedure for most B/S/H/ built dishwashers ( that means Bosch, Thermador, Siemens and Gaggenau ). To Enable or Disable the Cycle Completion Signal... 1. Open the door, hold down the ?Quick Wash? button and simultaneously turn the Dishwasher on. The ?Quick Wash? light will blink (program mode). 2. While the light is still blinking, push the ?Quick Wash? button. ? If the machine beeps, then the Cycle Completion Signal has been enabled. ? When you push the button again and it doesn?t beep, it means that the Cycle Completion Signal has been disabled. 3. Turn the Dishwasher off to take it out of program mode. I hope this answer's your question. Thank you for choosing "fixya". Please rate the solution favorably if indeed it was helpful, if not please let me know. Good luck. macmarkus :)

Beep's incessantly after cycle is complete. How can we re-program it to turn off after one or two beeps?

Hello, welcome to fixya.

To Enable or Disable the Cycle Completion Signal...

1. Open the door, hold down the “Quick Wash”
button and simultaneously turn the Dishwasher on.
The “Quick Wash” light will blink (program mode).

2. While the light is still blinking, push the “Quick
Wash” button.
• If the machine beeps, then the Cycle
Completion Signal has been enabled.
• When you push the button again and it
doesn’t beep, it means that the Cycle
Completion Signal has been disabled.

3. Turn the Dishwasher off to take it out of
program mode.

I hope this answer's your question. Thank you for choosing "fixya".

Bosch Classixx will not start

Just a guess, but it sounds as if the machine doesn't think the door is shut. Try pushing against it as you turn it on, if that works, then I'd guess there's a door shut switch that needs adjusting.

NOTE. This reply is from an amateur guesser who knows nothing.

if the door doesn't shut, the push buttons should not work. that way you are not running your d/w with the door open. check the door latch, as it seems to be malfunctioning. if the d/w still does not work, replace the door latch.

Bosch WFMC3200UC

I'm having a hard time understanding what is happening with my Bosch. Mine is filling and then immediately emptying out. Then the door unlocks but the timer indicates 45 minutes left (or so) and the door lock light is still on. Usually the only cycle that spins now is the spin cycle, but this doesn't help me get the soap out of the clothes still in the drum.

When the machine fills but doesn't rotate, the water level seems low as well. I had a repair man out who thought it might be the door latch sensor needing replacing (honestly, my toddler was pushing that button repeatedly), but I don't think that's it.

What does work: I unplug it for a while. Then if I'm lucky and the laundry Gods are shining down on me, I can wash normally (usually I'm luckier on Permanent Press but I always used to use the Cotton side). However, once I turn the machine "off," that's it all the problems persist so I have to wash it all, one load after another.

Flashing Active Light and not taking fabric conditioner

1: The flashing wash light usually indicates a problem with the door latch while a flashing rinse/spin light usually indicates a problem with your inlet valve. 2: The cold water inlet has 2 independant outlets. The issue that you are describing indicates that one part of the cold water inlet is not opening to allow water to flow to the proper dispenser port.
