ai just purchased a close-out Whirlpool side by side, model # ED5LHEXTD10. Rented a truck and brougut it home oueselves. The freezer gets cold and the ice maker is working fine, but the refrigerator side isn't getting cold. Because it is a close-out, (believe this is code for discontinued item) the store we purchased it from could not find the owners' manuel, but we were told that because it is 'new' it is warranted for 12 months. All I want is for the refrigerator to get cool.

Check the back wall of the freezer for frost . If there is then it is either the defrost heater, timer or thermostat. If there is no frost check to see if the fan in the freezer is running.

Water buildup in the fridge, dripping in from the freezer

This could be a bad thermostat. If your thermostat never closes it's swith then the defrost element never comes on and you get the problem you are having. Easy fix. Do you know where your timer is and can you retate it?

Whirpool gold

I did some research online, and read that the Start Relay is most commonly the problem. My husband bought the part, (about $50) and reattached it to the side of the compressor....and was cold immediately! apparently a very common problem on these fridges.

Whirlpool gold refridgerator light not working and is making funny noise

Had the identical symptoms with my Whirlpool Gold GS6SHEXNB00 side-by-side refrigerator. Had a technician come on site, indicated it was the "circuit board/ timer" (Whirlpool part # 1394052). Board is accessible from behind fridge (lower left side in a white plastic housing to left of compressor).

Swapped the board out (noticed a scorched circuit on the old circuit board). Lightbulbs now work, temperature readouts also good to go.
