Pull out unplug and leave for a few minutes then switch back on. That’s what we done and it worked.

I called General Electric and this is the solution:


unplug the machine for 2 to 3 minutes.

Plug it back in the wall

Do not put the power back on.

Open the door

Press the start/pause button 5-6 times

The display will say demo exiting...

This works. Also don't forget to remove the shipping bolts before starting your washing machine!!

Good washing!!

If this is a Whirlpool manufactured TOP LOADER washing machine, a no spin problem can have several causes. Most commonly, this is caused by either a lid switch malfunction or a broken motor coupling. The following link explains how you can diagnose the problem and repair it yourself:

The part number for a replacement lid switch is 3949247. The motor coupling part number is 285753A.

Hi,

Demo Mode
If the machine is on Demo mode 'D on' will be displayed and the machine will NOT function.
To reset the machine for normal use:·
Turn the power off at the wall.
Push in and hold down the Start/Stop and the Start/Reset
buttons, while still holding down, turn the machine on at the
wall.
'D off' will be displayed and the machine will function
normally.

  2. Scroll and select INFO.
  3. Select Store Demo Mode and select ON. NOTE: The display screen will show the time

1. Press SETTINGS/CLOCK until "DEMO MODE" is displayed.
2. The current setting will be displayed.
3. Press the "1" keypad to adjust the setting.
4. Press START or CANCEL to exit and display the time of day.

How i get off demo mode
Hello Mark, thank you for your inquiry!
I understand that your Electrolux washer is in demo mode and you need help in getting it out of it. In order to get your washer out of demo mode you would need to turn the cycle selector knob to spin only/time dry. Press start then the cancel button. Activate the control panel by turning the cycle selector knob to spin only/time dry cycle. Press and hold the cancel button with the soil level/extended tumble button (third button from the left) for three seconds. This should deactivate demo mode on your washer. If you continue to experience issues with your washer please comment back and reply with your model number. You can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the door frame of your washer. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

It says demo on it
You can ususally take your Hotpoint washing machine out of DEMO MODE by holding down both the ON/OFF button and the START/RESET button at the same time for about 3 seconds.

The display should then indicate D OFF.

If this procedure does not work for your particular machine, then please just comment back and be sure to include the exact model number of your washer next time so we can provide the appropriate procedure for your appliance.

MY LG washer is out of balance. I have been told there is a demo mode that can rebalance the washer drum. Do you know how to do this?
The demo mode does not do what you want it to do. Demo mode allows the retailer to demonstrate the wash tumbling without hooking the machine up to water and drain, and show the spin, and allows a servicer to test see those things, plus testing of the display board, water fill, and even the heater if your model has one. Demo mode will NOT "rebalance" the washer drum. Some models have a "Spinsense" setting, and newer models have a "Tru balance" ring, which does a very good job. (no, it is not a retro-fit type drum) Your only solution is to make sure your machine is on a solid floor, level, and all legs making firm contact with the floor. Load selection and load size have a limited effect on un-balanced situations, but The biggest factor here is having a SOLID FLOOR.
