Question about Theater

Open Question

My parents don't support me?

I have always wanted to become an actress. I have had this dream science I was six. I keep telling my parents how much it means to me but they won't support me. There was an audition for a Shakespeare competition and I begged my parents to let me audition and I had memorized my monologue but they would not let me go. I am 13 and this year and next year I wanted to take theatre as my elective in school but they wouldn't even allow me to do that. I am only 13 and I don't want to waist my childhood I want to become an actor now. I do not want to waist many years and wait until I am 18. Any advice? What should I dk? I feel like I am whistling many years when I could be growing. Because I hope for this to one day be my job.

I want to be an actress?

That is exactly right. Just start practicing with a friend or sign up for a class. Why would you expect to be good at something you have never tried.

I want to be an actress (13) but I can't afford lessons?

Can you start a club at your school? Or just start an acting club with your friends. Find a few plays in the library and try reading through them.
