It comes on and has flame and will run for a few seconds and then it trips the relay switch. It will come back on but it keeps tripping.

Reddy Heater Pro 125T: Motor runs, flame ignites briefly, then shuts off with a "Flame" fault light and needs to be reset. But I have done ALL the troubleshooting.

Apparently the photocell needs to see a flame of the correct colour or it will shut down so the nozzle and spinner has to be in very good condition - diesel might be clean but is the inside of the tank clean?
The fit between the spinner and nozzle is so very close it can stick with very small particles.

Can't speak for the Reddy Heater but a bad spark transformer seems a very common problem with that type of heater - ensure the spark gap is correct.

Heater has intermediate flame only for a few seconds than loses the flame. This is the cycle till it trips.

Oil/kero heater right? Did you check the fuel? If the fuel is okay....the nozzle may need changed. If the nozzle is okay check the electric eye.

Hope this helps you...Jim...Please leave a comment

I have reddy htr 35 was running great, just stopped reset breaker lit right up then went out Pulled cover off fan and spark fine reset it lights right up can see the fuel atomizing flame starts...

Check your fuel lines and most models have a fuel filter in line. A few things come to mind one how old is the fuel? Check the screen in the nozzle assembly by removing nozzle it sits directly behind the nozzle, these corrode and affect fuel flow. While you have this tore down clean the fire-eye with windex and terry cloth rag, it may not be seeing the flame. Check the air filter at the back of the heater as well. These are common problems with these heaters.

I have a reddy heater model M100D, when I turn it on it runs for about 30 seconds and then the circuit breaker trips and shuts the heater off.

Check the fan motor to make sure there is no obstruction on the intake for the motor, and clean out the intake filter, and see if the fan motor spins freely by hand,if it is restricted in turning at all,the blower motor is bad,I have a pdf I can send you if you like, this will help you,it is a manual. If it will help, let me know,,by email,I can send it,,,[email protected]

Shutting off

the kero heaters aren't really a pain to work on if you have a basic knowledge of what is to happen. Someone reported on one of their heaters that the motor armature was a tad oversized and wouldn't spin. He contacted the dealer and they supplied him with a new motor armature. reddy heat didn't issue a recall because they couldn't find the heaters. Ignition sources are the hot surface igniter or the spark plug type. The motor end air compressors are a vane type with close tolerances. The air pressure is 3.0 - 3.5 psi. The fuel nozzle forms a venturi that produces a vacuum that sucks the fuel up into it. the cad cell or photocell detects the ultraviolet in the flames and completes the lockout relay. no flame no woikee. the detector circuit has a solid state device called a triac. it is just a glorified motor contactor without all the movable contact stuff. it will carry 40 amps when its working right. you can bypass the safety circuit by jumping out the red wire and the black. the fan motor will run all the time.
