I have had this issue with my french door kitchen aid freezer drawer. I have a toddler who sometimes gets into the drawer. If it is left open just a hair, it will melt everything completely and water leaks out all over the floor.
The drain gets clogged when the door gets pushed back in for a tight seal and freezes again. Try to focus on keeping a really tight seal every time you open and then close the freezer...its almost like you have to TRY to close it hard to ensure it is closed. Total pain, but it works. When the door is closed tight, it stays like it is supposed to .
Hello, check the freezer sliding door rail. Removed everything in your freeze
then gently slide out the freezer door. Check the bottom of the freezer for food
items that may have dripped into the bottom of the freezer. Now, the check the
roller rails along each side of the freezer there could have been widget that
got smash by the roller on the freezer door, if you find this smashed widget--he
not drunk--he is dead. Scrape the those roller rails and clean the and get all
the globs, ice cream, widgets, pieces of other different types of freezer
flub. Next, set a level on the freezer door and see if the bubble is point
forward, if not then screw up the front two leveler in the front of the
freeze--one on each side in the front of the freezer/refrigerator. I hope this
help you. GB...stewbsion
In my case with constant snow and frost build-up in my bottom drawer GE
freezer, it was because the drawer never properly closed. As one user
noted, "there is no adjustment." However, there are "catches" at the
rear of the drawer glides and in my case one needed adjustment because
it was preventing the drawer from remaining closed tightly. SEE
PHOTOS. The photos show many items removed, but to make this repair,
you only need a butter knife to pop out the black plastic catch
mechanisms at the back end of the drawer glides, and only if you can
see that the spring is not properly positioned. SEE PHOTOS
yes you can.remove two screws from under one side pull it away slightly and it will come away.you will then have one housing on both sides left in the fridge wall, they will have a little pressure on them from the springs. just prise them away. you will need help to replace them, as you need pressure against the spring to keep the door closed. you can buy springs and housings seperately from camec there is left and right housings.give me a call if you need to ..
to be honest with you, close the door more gently. there are air vents between the frig and the freezer, when you close the frig door its forcing air into the freezer which in turn forces the door open some. the air has to get out so thats what it does. i hear this complaint alot.
Sounds like the refrigerator is sitting lopsided. Make sure that the front legs are both retracted in the up position. If it doesn't work, then lower the front leg on the hinge side of the refrigerator. That will cause the frame to lift the door and it should be able to close properly.
Could be the air pressure created from shutting the refer door is popping open the other one. There are are channels between the two so cool air from the freezer gets to the refer compartment. Try this as a test... s l o w l y close the refer door and see if that keeps the other door from popping open. If that works then it's likely an air channel is frozen up somewhere and you may need to turn the unit off for a day or so to let it thaw out. Moisture from leaking door seals, or doors that were left slightly open overnight can be sucked in and freeze up the air channels. I don't know if you are sort of slamming the door shut or not but the doors need to be shut slowly due to how air tight the new refers are.
