The TV works like it always has but the message to "replace the lamp and reset the timer" comes on about 30 secs after I turn on the TV. I've never replaced the lamp before. So does the message mean that the lamp is going to go out? Do I need to order a new one now, and is it something I can fix? Thanks for your help!

It means the counter hours have been reached... Is it possible that you've had the lamp replaced once before and didn't reset the counter??

I was given this model tv. The green and red lights on the front are flashing. Says to replace bulb and close lamp cover correctly. I am missing the lamp cover. Is that going to be a problem?

U mean the Lamp door cover?Yes?Tv might work, might not.Don't know never tries to turn the tv on before without a Lamp door cover close before. There is a blue safety switch though must be press down when the Lamp door cover is close.Test it out.Why don't u just take a piece of tape and tape that blue safety switch down tightly, than turn on the tv.If the tv message that said close lamp cover correctly disappear.Than yes the tv will work, without the lamp cover closed. Now u just needed to do a replacement of the tv projection lamp only that all.

A continuous flashing red light with the word LAMP on it would definitely mean you're going to need to spend a few bucks on a new lamp....or for a few more, upgrade to a TV from this century that doesn't require lamp changes :)

My tv turns on, but there is no picture. The two green lights and one red light are flashing on the button in front. What do I do?

That means that the lamp may be defective and the TV needs service. You can replace the lamp yourself. The code is on the right side of the TV and on the lamp case. Get a replacement using this code from the store where you bought the TV or a Samsung Service Center.

Once you have the correct lamp (the wrong one may damage your TV), make sure your TV has been off for at least 30 minutes (cool down). The cool down will not happen properly if the TV is plugged into anything other than a wall outlet.

Open the lamp case and take out the old lamp and replace with the new one. Do not touch the glass with your hands and do not insert any objects into the case. Do not leave the old lamp near flammable objects or where children can access it.

I hope this helps.

Says lamp problems

Without more information it is going to be hard to help you. I assume you mean the TV has a warning of lamp problems. Means you need to replace the lamp. Go to and put in your sets information. You should be able to find the lamp you need. Get it. Your owners manual should tell you how to replace or at least where the lamp housing is. Open the housing, remove the old lamp, install the new lamp, close properly and you should be good to go. Let me know how it works out.

My panasonic LCD TV's lamp light is flcikering.

Sounds like the lamp. Turn the TV off, unplug the TV from wall, wait for half hour. Remove the lamp and see, if it is fogy looking, this will give you an idea if the lamp is going bad.

Good luck

Need to understand what to order. TV will not go

Actually you need just the lamp, I mean you can get the housing also, but it's not necessary. WIth the lmap itself you'll be just fine. It's not hard to change, there's this page where they have video guides of how to replace them.

Sony KDF-E50A12U TV Swith on ok, after about 30 seconds the tv goes into standby mode, green power light on with 3 rapid red flashing lights. Any assistance appreciated

red light flashing means it can't dectect lamp housing. you can try and take it out (door on side of TV to the right hand side) and reinsert. But it probably means your lamp has blown. Replacement xl-2400 lamp is east to replace. Search ebay to buy one (about £100) and youtube has a video showing how to do it.
