Sunpak 6000PG what ? From the rest of your post, it appears to be a tripod. I am confused when you refer to 'one of the ones that contacts the ground' - all legs on a tripod should contact the ground. Be that as it may, if the leg clamp is broken, it may not be financially viable to have it repaired, and you may wish to replace it with a newer, sturdier model that will stand up to rough treatment.
