My JVC remote C5676 will not work with my JVC TV

The TV has no manual channel change buttons on it? I have never seen this on any TV ever.

I would either call JVC to see if known issue or to inquire if set has a lockout feature that kills remote and all button features----other possible reason in main board with all micro functions has a problem.

On the right hand side of this television there are panel buttons. It appears that your son in law knocked the tv out of the correct input. Press the input button in order to cycle through the 5 inputs. Typically pressing the input button on the side panel of a television and pressing it again and again and again will make it change inputs. Universally the buttons on the tv panel function as follows: Channel up moves the cursor up. Channel down moves the cursor down. Volume + moves the cursor right. Volume - moves the cursor left.

if your remote is for cable, then you have to push the cable button, then change channels. volume will work only on tv mode.

1.- Turn off your TV
2.- On the remote control, set the VCR/TV slide switch to TV position.
3.- While holding in SP/EP button, press the code button listed below that corresponds to the brand of your TV
4.- Press TV POWER on the remote control. Once your TV has turned on, your remote is set up to operate your brand

Hey there Andy l rekon ya busted yer remote so best git on down to the store an git yerself one a them universal remotes for xmas.

We have a Sylvania 6313CB TV/VCR combo.  I bought a universal remote and the code would not work when I tried to program it to the "TV" button using all those possible codes listed in the books.  So, on the universal remote, there was a button named "VCR" and when I programmed in the code "0000" all worked.  This was a $6.00 universal remote named "One For All"  we bought at the Big Lots store.  
Specifically, here is what I did:
Turned TV on Pushed the "VCR" button and light blinked once Pushed and held the "set" button until it blinked twice Released the "set" button and entered the numbers "0000" Pushed the on/off button and it worked including volume, channel up/down and channel change by entering the channel number.
Hope this works for you too.

I have a Motorola DVR from Comcast. Code 051 will make all the cable functions work. Haven't figured out how to do anything with the DVR bits,

Manual push buttons part number should be CM35776-B01-SA.
Give me a few hours--I'll get the remote part number....T

Try pressing the vol up and vol down buttons on the tv at the same time(not on the remote)
