Question about HP PSC 1210 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Paper feed I am printing labels (avery 5294 - 12  2.5 " diameter circles on an 8.5 x 11). The machine will not consistently start printing with the same margin on top.  I try to set the label sheets in one at a time in exactly the same way, Sometimes it prints early, sometimes late.  At any rate I'm not hitting my labels!  Is this a cleaning problem?

I was just trying to print Avery labels 8962 and it won't feed the labels properly. It starts printing at least .5 inchs higher than it should on the label paper. On regular paper it prints perfeclty.

    Any ideas?

My printer does the same thing with labels! It drives me nuts! I'll adjust all the margins as per set-up page instructions off my Avery labels and it still misses it's mark. I've tried several types of label pages, standard, glossy, non-glossy...etc and regardless..... What else can be done?

Same problem here. Someone said the rollers are slipping, but I don't think so because when I load the same label paper in, it prints it again in the same exact spot, about a half inch higher than it should. If the rollers were slipping, wouldn't it print more randomly? I think it's a bug with the driver. Does anyone know of any driver updates that would fix this?

The feed rollers are slipping on the surface of the label, causing the page to load incorrectly. There is no permanent solution at this time. Try one of the following workarounds to correct this issue. Workarounds Workaround 1 Adjust the top margin using Page Setup.

  1. Click File , then Page Setup in the program being used, (accessing Page Setup may vary from program to program. Refer to the Help file for that program).
  2. Adjust the top margin until printing is correct on the label.
Workaround 2 Manually print one sheet at a time. Place one sheet of labels in the input tray at a time, printing only that page. Repeat for all pages of labels needed.

How do I feed an AVERY label 5453 into the printer?

Just place the sheet of labels in the paper tray.
You may need to place the labels face down in the paper tray so the prints on the correct side of the labels. If it didn't print on the correct side of the labels then place the labels face up.

I am trying to make labels for cd's but they are not printing correctly. The sheets show the cd to the side of the page but it's only printing straight down the middle so it's not letting me print...

I had the same problem. The solution I came up with was to use Microsoft Publisher to print the labels. First I drew a circle about the size of the cd and another inside it for the centre. I printed it out on a plain sheet of A4 paper and measured held it over the label to see how they matched up. I dragged the circles in publisher using trial and error until the circles came out in the same place as the circles of the labels. Then I designed the label inside the circle using publisher and when I printed it on the label it came out in the circle.

If you don't have publisher just check the paper shown in your print dialog and make sure you have changed it to the label type you're using rather than A4 Plain which is the standard.

Lexmark won't print on Avery labels

The printer is expecting the label stock to be loaded into the manual feed tray, not the regular paper tray. If it does not sense anything in the manual feed tray it will not continue. If you are loading the stock in the tray, it may need to be pushed further into the try to trigger the sensor.

Printing labels on bizhub C450

Hi nwillett,
Yes and no, sorry if that doesn't make much sense.
For years Minolta recommended Avery labels, but these days they recomment labels manufactured by Howard Smith Papers, their website is http://www.hspg.com/
The thing with labels is always to use the one your copier service company suggests. Otherwise they'll invalidate you contract and you'll be liable for callouts and repairs caused by using Avery labels.
However, Avery labels are good and I have experienced very few problems with them I pressume you using the lables in the correct orientation and also using the manual bypass to feed them.
Regards
Taminol

Printer Jam - when i put a sheet of Avery labels, printer jams

When you say TOP TRAY, do you mean a paper drawer, or the BYPASS TRAY? If the labels won't feed into the bypass but bond paper does, check to see if your labels are made for inkjet printers. Go to www.avery.com and contact Avery customer support to see what product they recommend for your MFC. Labels made for plain paper printers sometimes do not work for inkjets, and vice-a-versa.

You have to feed the labels through the manual feeder.

Avery Ink Jet Magnetic Sheets - 3270

It worked fine for us on an Epson. We printed about 40 sheets fed one at a time. Do not stack the sheets in the feed hopper, they stick together because of the magnetism.

There is no template because the material is not die cut. It is just full 8.5x11" sheet size.

Dvd and cd printing

This is an easy fix by creating your own template....choose program "cd-labelprint" >> file >> select paper >> new >> (select a name to save as) (select diameter sizes etc) >> OK.
