SOURCE: error code 1517--remove and check cartridge

Solution Follow the steps below until the above issue is resolved. All of the following steps may not be necessary to resolve the issue. Step one: Clear any paper or carriage path obstructions Right-click the link below to open a new browser window with specific instructions about how to clear paper jams. When you have completed paper jam removal instructions, return to this point in these instructions to continue resolving a carriage stall. Click here for information on resolving paper jams (c00107909). (in English). Moving the carriage

  1. With the product turned on, open the print cartridge access door. The print carriage might try to move into the access area. If so, allow it to move to that position.
  2. Without turning off the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the all-in-one. Unplug the power cord from the power source. The power cord must be unplugged to allow the parts to be moved by hand and to reset the paper feed mechanism, without the risk of an electrical shock.
  3. Looking in through either the print cartridge access door or the output paper tray, verify that the print cartridges are locked into the carriage and have not come loose. Also verify that there are no obstructions under or around the carriage to block it from moving.
  4. Verify that the print carriage can move freely across the width of the product by gently pushing the carriage to the left and then to the right. Clear any obstructions found. You may have to reach through the output paper tray to access the print carriage.
  5. Close the print cartridge access door and plug the power cord back to the back of the product. Plug the power cord into the power source.
  6. Press the On button to turn on the product.
  7. Try the print job again to see if this step resolved the issue.
    • If the issue is resolved , you do not need to continue with the rest of the instructions on this page.
    • If the issue is not resolved , continue to the next step.
Step two: Ensure correct installation of the front panel overlay If the front panel overlay, or bezel, is incorrectly installed, the product may indicate a false carriage stall error condition. 2. Unplug the power cable from the back of the all-in-one.
  3. Unplug the product cable from any power strips or surge suppressors, and plug it directly into a grounded (three-prong) wall outlet.
  4. Plug the power cable into the back of the all-in-one.
  5. Try the print job again to see if this step resolved the issue.
    • If the issue is resolved , you do not need to continue with the rest of the instructions on this page.

SOURCE: Incompatible ink cartridge(s) ERROR on HP 4230 All-in-on printer

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. This can be done by going to the Add and Remove programs, this is located under the Control Panel. You may have to reboot and I would recommend that you do. This will clear out the Print Spooler. The Print Spooler is located under the C Drive and may get corrupted. You can find information about this in Google. Look for repairing spooler on the OS that you are using.

SOURCE: Try to print but: get General Printer error 0x61000f6 beware spam number 1*800*532*4187

Hi

This error comes due to carriage jam. Turn off the printer and unplug it from wall socket. Now, remove the cartridges and check for any dried up ink residue on cartridges on inside the carriage. Clean the cartridges contacts and carriage using a Q-tip dipped i alcohol. Let the carriage and cartridges dry before you plug in the printer.
Install the cartridges and check. If it still shows error then unplug the power cord coming to the printer without switching it off. Now, remove the rear door of the printer and check for any paper jams over there, remove if any. Wit for at least 15 seconds and plug in the power cord. Now check whether it is working.

What printer should I buy which is lowest cost to operate, lowest cost for ink

My personal preference is Epson. There are loads of deals out there. Best bet is to go into somewhere like Staples and have a look at them and then google for the best price. Mine, now over 2 years old so not available any more. It is wireless, has its own address so I can print from a phone or pc whilst out, and photocopies, prints and scans into a pc. It does all I ever need and the best part is that you can use non Epson inks saving a fortune on refills.
It sounds like I work for Epson. I don't I just prefer them.
