That doesn't sound good, Usually the radiator hose is too big for vice-grips? If the engine was over-heated, you may have internal engine damage? I don't know if engine was over-heated?

Need to replace the inner tie rod ends on my 1991 Ford Escort Pony. What type of tools do I need, and is there any unforseen problems I need to be aware of?

You ned some sockets, socket wrench, vice-grip pliers and a splitter. The splitter could be a pickle fork or a press. Either can be borrowed from most parts stores like Advanced Auto.

1970 ford cortina , the brakes padal fades every now and again

Air in the line. Could be a faulty caliper, to test a caliper clamp off the line with vice grip on each tyre and test pedal. If you get good pedal when a line is clamped you have found your problem caliper.

I can't get the inside brake pistons on my 06 tundra to collaps is ther any thing special i need to do

Try using a vice-grip c-vice. Use one of your old pads and place on the piston. Place the bottom part of the vice on the pad and the other on the outer caliper housing, then tighten clamp and squeeze. Wait a few seconds and tighten the clamp further and squeeze again. Keep repeating until the piston collapses entirely.

Losing fuel pressure as soon as car is shut off

Two Options -

Replace the cheapest of the two first and see if that fixes it, or

get a pressure gauge and a short piece of rubber tubing. Disconnect the fuel line at some point, connect to pressure gauge with the rubber hose and hose clamps, then test fuel pump output pressure.
