No internet installed router per instructions but no internet am on virgin media

Did you follow instructions on the manual , re install the driver .

are you using the cable modem as your router? if so then simply hard code your media hub to a static ip address in the same range that the router/modem communicates on. (private address side)

The purple lit up thing badged Virgin media, it's a button as well as the indicator by colour.

I used to have the same problem and installed a wireless access point that professionals use in schools and factories. You couple to the saucer shaped thing with cable and it does Wi-Fi cable free for miles. I can follow the signal more than 20 houses away.

Insert the CD into your computer. The Setup Assistant will automatically appear on your computer’s screen within 15 seconds. Click on “Go” to run the Setup Assistant. Follow the instructions there.
Check the lights if its not stable reset it..

Well, Virgin Media provides Cable Internet connection and with those connections you can not use this ADSL modem. If you have internet services from Virgin.net then only you will be able to use this modem with them. This modem will not work with Virgin Media connection.

can you get a phone number?

the router may be block by Virgin Media, so that way people can't steal internet from it (that is if you have it unsecured) you may have to set it up with virgin over the phone, or have a local broadband provider try to set it up

Hi fozzy211 - Please don't rate this 'til were finished. You've got two things going on. You said it's telling you to check the cables and then you say it's saying the router isn't from Verizon. Is it both? Are the cables hooked up correctly to your knowledge? We can fool Verizon's system. Let me know if you actually have two problems. For now I would only hook up one pc via wired until it's working. I'll await your response. Thanks.

The model number of the Belkin router may be of interest if detailed configuration instructions are required and because there is the a report of an issue with a specific belkin router model on the Virgin Media site that appears to require a firmware update to work well with that particular internet service.
