Yes, I was told to get mine below 7.0, and I'm 69, so it sounds OK.

If you want to know more ask your doctor for a HbA1c blood test. The doc will know what you mean. It is a sort of 3 month average blood glucose reading, which is more meaningful.

At what range should you keep your blood sugars to prevent going on insulin

70 to 240 is considered the normal range. Avoiding spikes in blood sugar by eating lots of candy can help your system respond correctly to blood sugar levels. Moderation is best when eating high sugar foods.

I am a female aged 55 and weigh 80kg. Is a blood sugar level of 10.5 normal?

Remember that fasting normal level is between 4.5-6. If this is a fasting level, this is abnormal. It is possible to have post-prandial levels approaching this and return to normal within a specified time.
I would talk to a doctor and get some further testing done to determine how best to respond to this level.

Normal blood sugar is not a set value, but it should be about 100-115 in the morning when you have not eaten or consumed any sweetened liquids, this is called fasting blood sugar.

Give me blood sugar levels

They vary throughout the day. For someone without diabetes, a fasting blood sugar on awakening should be under 100 mg/dl. Before-meal normal sugars are 70-99 mg/dl. "Postprandial" sugars taken two hours after meals should be less than 140 mg/dl. What Is Normal Blood Sugar Level Diabetes Self Management
