If this is a blue screen error and it do not let you to install the operation system ..but only loads a few files ..it means that you have let the hard disk set by default ..in BIOS and it is on sata bus..and needs to install the ahci driver ...If you have its original driver disk ..and you have a bootable disk with the operation system ..try to see if it takes the driver from a memory stick ...Just run the installation from the boot-able disk ..and press f 6 when it asks for 3rd party driver ..if you installing windows XP ..or ..when you get to the first screen on windows 7 ..choose to load driver and browse for the ahci driver on the usb stick ..if it can be found..or load it into a partition instead..or a external floppy disk ..Or ..make a boot-able memory stick .and load windows from it ..and use the original disk with drivers to load the ahci driver .. In case non of these will work ..just go to bios settings first ..and under the hard disk 0 ..select to disable the ahci mode...and select ide compatible ..or ide default ..or plain ide...anyway ..just not ahci ....and the hard disk will be seen and will let you to install the operation system .. If you are trying to install from a recovery disk ..it may not work ..cause will not recognize the hard disk and may need to use files usually stored in the reserved partition of windows..so ..best to try install from a boot-able disk or boot-able usb device ..and after that load all drivers and programs ..including antivirus.. remember to get the lan driver in handy ..cause without it you will not be able to connect top the internet and finish the drivers and programs installing .. let me know if you solved the problem and please rate my answer if it's helpful ..have a nice day !
Here is what you need to do to install XP on your laptop that came with Vista or Win 7.
If your hard drive is SATA (pretty much standard these days) you
will need to search the manufacturer's site for a floppy disk SATA
driver install package.* You will need a USB floppy drive for installing XP. * Copy the SATA drivers (should be denoted as "F6 drivers" or similar) to a blank disk. * Have the USB drive connected. It should automatically map as A:\. * Go into BIOS and find a setting for ACPI Compatible and set on. *
Now install XP normally from the CDROM, and when it says "press F6 to
install third-party drivers", press F6 and follow the options to get the
SATA drivers from the disk. * Complete setup as normal.

Hello. Thanks for choosing Fixya! Click on your start button and then on printers and faxes. Look and see what other printer drivers you already have installed. Delete any that you no longer need and THEN install your new disc. Regards, Joe
Your notebook has SATA hdd. Got into the bios (keep pressing F2 key on startup) then in the bios screen find HDD and press enter. Select IDE mode. Press f10 to save changes and exit. When this is done install XP.
Alternatively connect external usb floppy drive and unzip sata drivers into that. When booting from xp cd press f6 to load drivers.Follow onscreen instructions to load drivers and continue xp installation.
Please let me know if issue not solved for futher ts steps.
Make sure that the usb drivers do not have conflick right click on my computer and go to propertys open the device manager and see if there are any conflick of driver unistall the camera and drivers for the camera restart the laptop ad the setup disk and follow the prompts to reinstall the drivers if you dont have a setup disk download the driver and put them on a disk ,if you install from a disk you will have less chance of conflick than you would if you just down load and install from the internet.
try and go to the manufacturers website and downloading the latest drivers from them. Sometimes they have trouble with the drivers on the cd but obviously can't recall every cd, so they release the updated drivers online through their website.
