LED flashes of 8 times are indicative of a "High Voltage Error" which means something along the lines of "T8005 is faulty. (D board)" according to the service manual. Yes you have bad green and red crt but with an adjustment you can still use it. remove the front panel and you'll see the focus pack (it;s a black piece with 6 rotating knobs on it. Adjust clock otherwise the red and green screen (the bottom line knobs) till the lines has gone. The better way to check it is to adujt in video input with no signal, just black screen.

The STANDBY light will flash if an issue is detected within the television. This can sometimes be resolved by simply following the steps below to reset the television.

1. Turn off the television. IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
