Fujifilm XD picture card does not seem to fit my new Toshiba Satellite L500C memory card reader slot.

I have used my picture card successfully for years in my earlier laptops. Is my memory card outdated? How can I overcome this problem?

Have you tried dell's website for any drivers. If there are, reinstall them and see if that fixes it.

Have a look into the device manager, right click my computer, select manage, then on the left side of the management window click on device manager, plug in the sd, do you see any ? or ! or yellow marks or unknown devices that a driver would be missing from or malfunctioning?

SOURCE: How to insert SD memory card into card rader in laptop computer

I would like to inform you that Acer's laptop doesn't support all kinds SD memory cards available in local market. Its not compatible with all physical dimensions of various memory card companies. So in that case you need to use EXTERNAL Memory card reader which is attachable to USB ports.

If this solution was helpful to you then please rate 100% (or FIXYA) for this solution, otherwise don't rate at all. It was my pleasure helping you.
With regards,

Xd picture card will not click into place on Olympus e-420. Results in prompt "card reader error."

Are you sure it is a xD card and not an SDXC?

Then there should be a little arrow, pointing in the direction it should be going while inserting.
Try to eject the card and reinsert the card.
If you never used a xD card, and nobody else ever tried to put something in the slot, the card should go in smooth.
After placing the card, don't forget to format the card in the camera.

Yes it is possible. There is a memory card slot, from that you can easily import photos in Windows and then print them to your printer.

My Fuji xd card wont fit into slot of my Toshiba Satellite C660-1LD

That means your Toshiba's slot is not designed for that particular card. Go buy a card reader that handles many different sizes and formats for less than $20 and it plugs into your usb port.

Try this site at the link below and when it comes up just type: USB XD Card Reader in the white search box at the top and press GO.

You can sort the results from most popular which is shown first to Prices Low to High.

I cant find the xd slot for my toshiba satellite l300d

Sorry all_smiles_0 but I'll possibly wipe your smile away with the fact that your lappy only supports

SD, card, SDHC card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, Multi Media card

I don't see Xd in the list, so, the reason you can't find a slot is that it doesn't have one...

However there is a silver lining, you lappy has vista which supports the vast majority of cameras natively. Try finding the USB/Firewire/1394 port on your camera and hooking it directly to your lappy and you may find the vista picture wizard appears on it's own and offers to import the pics. If it doesn't, don't worry many of the main accessory manufactures io, startech and the like make USB based Xd readers, if you have no reader and your cam won't download without you shoud be able to find one for $20-$30 at your local computer store.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Recover deleted photos

I have had success with this... Download Asoftech photo recovery program
http://www.asoftech.com/apr/

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

Reg mmc card reading

Normally you'd just be able to open My Computer, and plug the card in to the built in slot, and it would pop up as the next available drive letter. If the internal slot is missing or inoperative, you could buy a cheap MMC to USB adapter, plug the card into the adapter, and the adapter into a USB slot.
