What is 0.25, 0.78, 2/5, and 0.13 to least to greatest

You can use place value to order decimals.
To put these numbers in order, first determine which is the least number.
Compare the ones place. They are all the same.
Compare the tenths place. 0.35 and 0.3 both have 3 in the tenths place.
Compare the hundredths place. 0.3 can also be written as 0.30.
0 ! 5 so 0.3 ! 0.35.
The numbers in order from least to greatest are 0.3, 0.35 and 0.55.
You can also use a number line to put the numbers in order.
The numbers become greater as you move to the right on the number line.
Therefore, since 0.55 is the farthest to the right, it is the greatest number.
0.35 is to the right of 0.3, so it is greater than 0.3.
The decimals in order from least to greatest are 0.3, 0.35, and 0.55.
  1. 0.2 0.05 0.25 0.1 0.15 0.3 0.35 0.4 0.5 0.6 0.7 0.45 0.55 0.65

How do you order decimals

We can use this method to see which decimals are bigger:
  1. Set up a table with the decimal point in the same place for each number.
  2. Put in each number.
  3. Fill in the empty squares with zeros.
  4. Compare using the first column on the left.
  5. If the digits are equal move to the next column to the right until one number wins.

Find fractional notation for the ratio of 335 to 547.

write as decimal over one as fraction.
multiply top and bottom for number of decimal places by 10^(number of decimal places) to eliminate decimal.
Find the greatest common factor (gcf) for both numerator and denominator and divide both by this number in this case 2.
Simplify result.

How to convert percent to fraction

  1. Divide the percent by 100 to get decimal number.
  2. Count the number of digits (d) to the right of the decimal point of the decimal number.Example: 2.56 has 2 digits to the right of the decimal point, so d=2.
  3. Calculate the factor (f) for making the decimal number an integer: f = 10 to power d
    Example:
    f = 10 power 2 = 100
  4. Multiply and divide the decimal number x by the factor f: x * f / f = y / f
    Example:
    2.56 * 100 / 100 = 256 / 100
  5. Find the greatest common divisor (gcd) of the fraction. Example:
    gcd(256,100) = 4
  6. Reduce the fraction by dividing the numerator and denominator by the gcd value: Example:
    256 / 100 = (256/4) / (100/4) = 64/25
Example One percent is equal to one hundredth:
1% = 1/100
So in order to convert percent to fraction, divide the percent by 100% and reduce the fraction.
For example 56% is equal to 56/100 with gcd=4 is equal to 14/25:
56% = 56/100 = 14/25

Convert decimal fraction to binary

None of these solutions answer his question. When converting a fraction or any number with decimal places to Binary, the TI-89 gives "Error: Domain error." For example, entering .6875 [2ND][MATH][BASE][BIN] does not work. I haven't found a way to do it with built in functions. In order to do these types of conversions, I use the following method.

Convert: 0.6875 to Binary
- left of decimal is a 0, so write down a 0, then a decimal point: (0.)
- multiply .6875 x 2 = 1.375 left of decimal is 1, write a 1: (0.1)
- drop the 1 and multiply .375 x 2 = .75 left of decimal is 0. write a 0: (0.10)
- multiply .75 x 2 = 1.5 left of decimal is 1, write a 1: (0.101)

- drop the 1, multiple .5 x 2 = 1. left of decimal is 1, write a 1: (0.1011).
- since there is no more fraction, the final answer is (0.1011). Hope this helps.

How to find G.C.F. on a TI-30xIIs calculator?

I don't think there's specific key for this but you can do it this way:

  1. Divide those 2 numbers for which you want to find gcf
  2. If you get result as decimal number press keys [2nd][PRB] to display it as fraction
  3. Also if fraction you get is in form a b/c (ex. 1 2/3) you have to convert it to form d/c (for 1 2/3 that would be 5/3)
  4. Greatest common factor is then 1st number divided by numerator (or 2nd number divided by denominator)
For example:
  • You want to find greatest common factor of 30 and 18.
  • You divide them: you should get 5/3 (after converting result to fraction of form d/c, as described in steps 2 and 3).
  • This means that 30/18=5/3=5x/3x (x is gcf here).
  • Now you know that x=30/5=18/3=6 so greatest common factor is 6.

I hope this helps :)

956.40 & 988.40 as a ratio

There is not much that can be done to figure out how to write 0.9676244435451234 as a fraction, except to literally use what the decimal portion of your number, the .9676244435451234, means.

Since there are 16 digits in 9676244435451234, the very last digit is the "10000000000000000th" decimal place.

So we can just say that .9676244435451234 is the same as 9676244435451234/10000000000000000.

We can reduce this fraction to lowest
terms by dividing both the numerator and denominator by -2.14748e+09.

Why divide by -2.14748e+09? -2.14748e+09 is the Greatest Common Divisor (GCD)
or Greatest Common Factor (GCF) of the numbers 9.67624e+15 and 1e+16.
So, this fraction reduced to lowest terms isegif.cgi?mag=2&fg=12&bg=15&equ=+++4505852+%2c+%2d+%2d%2d%2d%2d%2d%2d%2d%2d%2c+++%2d4656612%2c
