SOURCE: kenmore 90 plus series: heavy duty super capacity won't agitate

this is the site to find out how to fix your washer.
you have a broken drive coupling.
it probably wont agitate or spin, but will fill and drain.
you need to remove 2 screws from the control panel, hinge it back and then remove the 2 brass colored clips that hold the cabinet to the base. once you do then pull the entire cabinet forwards to a 45 degree angle and pull it off the base.
then pull the 2 clips off pump and then 2 more on the motor. that will allow you to get to the drive coupling. you will find it to be broken.
replace it with part number 285753a for about 15-20 bucks.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Ultimate Care Heavy Duty Washer will not spin

It sounds like you have a broken motor coupling. This is a very inexpensive and simple repair.

If the washer will fill and drain, but won't agitate or spin, you may have a broken motor coupling. The noise of the motor engaging, lack of agitation and ability to still drain are the usual symptoms. This is a common fail item with this model washer through normal wear and tear. Newer versions of the coupler are more resilient and resist breaking. The following link explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385252-replacing_motor_coupling_whirlpool_top
The motor coupling is located between the drive motor and the transmission and takes the place of a drive belt. They do wear out and can break. The replacement part number is included in the link I provided and is an improved upgraded coupling that is more resilient. It should last longer. If you have questions, or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

A replacement coupler can be purchased on line at appliancepartspros.com for about $11. Just use the part number in the link and "Search by Part Number" for your search criteria.

SOURCE: ultimate care supreme leaks underneath

First check the hoses to the machine. If they leak the water follows the hoses and drips on floor. Also check the hose connection at the washer. They will leak inside. Next it may well be a water pump going out or the plastic hose that is under pressure when operating. The pump is in the middle of machine underneth - Sorry - Good luck

If your TOP LOADING Whirlpool manufactured washer (Kenmore) is leaking, the following link explains how to remove the exterior washer case in order to accurately inspect the washer interior components for the source of your leak:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576648-washer_leak__top_loader

If the leak is more like a constant drip, a common source of leaks with Whirlpool manufactured top loaders is a leaking drain pump. These pumps are not serviceable and if damaged, must be replaced. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3794382-replacing_water_pump_whirlpool_top

Don't forget to check all drain hose connections under the washer and the center tub seal.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartrsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying the parts you may need.

If you have any questions, please post back with a complete MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Could be a tub seal leaking (not likely), or water pump leaking (very common), cracked outer tub, leaking hose. You would really need to take washer cabinet off machine to be able to see where it's actually leaking.

We have a Frigidaire top loading, 8 cycle, heavy duty, super capacity 2 speed washer and it does not have a model number on the inside lid. The washer is leaking at the point where the drive shaft connects...

the part needed to be replaced is the main tub seal and it is not hard to do. remove the agitator the you will see a collars that has two bolts on the side of it this keeps the inner tub attached to the drive shaft you may also have one that is broken.
lift the washer lid. then remove the tub ring that is on top of the outer tub once this is removed you can remove the inner tub.there will be a brass ring with a black rubber piece in the center of it this need to come off in order to get the tub seal out. it maybe a little difficult toe remove but it just pulls up. you may have to use some liquid soap on the drive shaft to make things easier to slide up and off

Amana Distinction super capacity plus 3.3 stainless tub...works great, no vibration, but in the spin cycle it has started to roar, being very loud. Why did this start..could it be the idler roller for the...

You have a tub seal that has leaked and the tub bearing has gotten wet and started to rust. This problem will continue to get worse and louder until the tub bearing falls apart. This is a major repair , the parts are not that expensive to replace, ( about $60.00 )but the labor involved is major. In some cases the washer is replaced for this problem. I also would not recommend you attempt this repair yourself. This job takes a professional about 3-5 hours, and sometimes the seal will leak again anyway. If you do decide to attempt this repair I will try to find you a detailed step by step guide. But, be prepaired to replace the machine if the repair fails. It is a major job. I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but its not a horse so shoot it and get another one. that would be my suggestion.

My washer keeps leaking grease onto my clothes!

the problem that you have is the bearings have badly worn,a lot of companys will just replace the entire drum rather than mess about with the bearings as this does not always solve the problem.sorry to give this bad news.

Amana washer model LW6501W2 leaks in front during fill up

It leaks Your washer can develop several types of leaks. You can track down a leak based on when it occurs:

During fill only
During drain and spin only
All the time
During fill only If the washer leaks only during the fill cycle, check these:

  • Air-gap device -The air gap is a small device found on most washers that prevents the wash water from being siphoned into the household water supply. It's located either mid-way along or at the end of the black rubber hose that comes from the water-inlet valve. Often it's made of translucent plastic. If one of the air-gap components deforms or cracks, you may need to replace it.

  • The tube -There's a rubber tube that runs between the water-inlet valve and either the air-gap or the inlet spout. If it cracks or breaks, it can cause a leak.

  • Inlet spout -Most washers have a plastic spout near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the water into the tub. If the spout cracks or breaks free of its mounting, it can cause a leak.

During drain and spin only A washer that leaks only during the spin cycle often has a leak in the main drain hose. Inspect the entire hose and correct any problem you find. Alternatively, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. This may be most visible during large loads and high water levels. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.

All the time If the washer leaks all the time, check these:

  • Hot and cold water fill hoses - Check the hot and cold water hoses from the household plumbing. If either hose is leaking, tighten it or replace it, as appropriate.

  • Main tub seal - The main tub seal is located between the transmission and the outer tub. It's the primary water seal in the outer tub for the transmission-shaft entry point. If this seal leaks, you can see the leak by opening up the machine's main access panel while the machine is full of water with a small amount of detergent in it. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center. This seal is difficult to replace. You probably should call a qualified appliance repair technician.

  • Pump - If the pump leaks, you can probably spot the leak when the tub is full of water. The pump has two or more black rubber or plastic hoses attached to it and usually has a drive belt that spins the pump. If the pump is leaking, you need to replace it.

  • Outer tub - Over time, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.

AMANA WASHER WILL LEAKS WATER IN TUB AFTER SPIN CYCLE.

Cylon, sounds like you need to replace the water inlet valve. It's not seating and weeping water. For series 10 the part number would be 40097701. Not that hard of a job. Catriver..post back.
