On the remote, there will be a menu button. Make sure that the antenna or cable is hooked up to the connector in back which will be a metal circle sticking out the back. When you have your menu options, go to the settings or options and select the Auto-Channel or Auto-Tune function which will automaticaly pick up and save found channels.
You'll need to reprogram the channels.
Typically this is found under the settings in some sort of auto program section of the menu.
On most newer televisions, the setting is found under a 'Channel' section.
Just select auto program and your source, whether it be an antenna or a cable source.
When the auto program is completed, you'll have your channels back.
Enter the "menu" and select auto program. This will allow the set to search for all available channels. There is also a possibility that when you hooked it up the little wire center conductor in the cable might have been bent over when you hooked it up. Check that first.
Hook a VCR to it with a tape playing and make sure the VCR RF switch is set to channel 3. Then do the auto search. If it still does not find channel 3, then your TV has a bad tuning circuit.
Hi gail dahl,
I am happy to help.
From the Video Menu the Tuning Band must be set to Cable and not to AIR or Antenna. You will nee to run Auto Scan for channels from the Menu also.
I have provided a link to download the manual.

i have the same model, so try going to menu and doing the add/delete channel thing....also i found that i only get all my channels if the tv is set to catv instead of tv
Check the resolution settings on your cable box, you may have to call your cable provider to find out how to get into the settings menu, there is a stretch function in the settings that should make all the lower channels auto fit your screen, also see if there's a p=size button on your remote control, try pushing that when on the channels that have sidebars.
