Our Sears/Whirlpool washer was showing a F21 code as well. We could eventually get it drained but we could tell it was not doing well as it was making quite a noise. We hired the Sears repair man, he says "I see this all the time - it's a sock stuck in the drain." He takes 3 screws off the panel just below the door on the bottom side of the panel and lifts it off. There is a white cap on the right side that he unscrews by grabbing the cap with a plyers. Important: catch the water as a lot will drain out. Pulls out the sock and some coins and says that will be $150. Hopefully I just saved you that money.

Using the wrong detergent may or may not have had something to do with this error. It is important that you use HE detergent in these washers, though. If you don't, you are in affect adding a higher concentration of detergent in a washer that only uses 5 to 7 gallons of water. Regular detergent is formulated for a wash tub with a 35 gallon capacity. Using it in an HE washer can cause excessive sudsing, premature failure of the drain pump and seals, and annoying error codes.

First, try running a DRAIN/SPIN cycle to clear out any excessive suds. You may have to repeat this process several times. Next, leave the washer unplugged for 30 minutes to see if the Central Control Unit (CCU) will reset and clear the error codes. If the problem continues after a CCU reset check the following:

Check your drain pump for obstructions. The "F21 error is a Long Drain error code. If there's something obstructing the drain pump, the washer will not complete the wash cycle. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r1484065-f21_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

Also check the drain pump connector plug to ensure it is not loose. If cleaning the pump does not correct the error, you may have a pump that no longer pumps at the correct volume. If this is the case, you need to replace your drain pump.

The "F27" error code is an Overflow Condition. It can have several causes, but the drain pump is the common link with these two error codes. This error can be generated if air is detected in the drain pump (suds), or if the pump is not working.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Washer stops running and displays code SUD. The water doesn't drain until It's put on the rinse/spin cycle.

Make sure you are using HE (High Efficiency)detergent. The codes could mean your washer is telling you it has used a built in "SUD" routine during final rinse

Hi - my washer keeps displaying the f35 code and stops - i then cant unlock or cancel i have to unplug it - seems as though there are no repairman who know what this is - can you tell me what i should do...

themobilian_2267.jpg
The F-35 on some models means:
ANALOG PRESSURE SENSOR FAILURE
If this failure is displayed, there is any malfunction of the steamer
component detected by the Steamer Electronic Board.

Possible Causes/Procedure
Check if pressure hose is fixed correctly.
Check if the airtrap is not blocked.
Check if the hose is not blocked.

Make sure you are ONLY using HE SOAP!
Correct usage amounts are as follows:

Regular HE SOAP = 2 Tablespoons
2X HE SOAP = 1 Tablespoon
3X HE SOAP = 1 Teaspoon

The information on the soap usage comes directly from Whirlpool Tech Line.

SUDS LOCK (OVERDOSE OF DETERGENT DETECTED DURING THE
WASH CYCLE)

If suds are detected continuously by the pressure switch during the drain
or spin phases, the washer will fi ll 4 liters of water and during 5 minutes
the unit will rest without tumbling, the water will be drained and it will try
to spin or drain again.

Possible Causes/Procedure

If too much detergent was used:
Run through a RINSE/SPIN cycle.
Run a NORMAL cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
Unplug washer or disconnect power.
Check wire harness connections to the drain pump, pressure switch,
and Central Control Unit (CCU).
Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
Plug in washer or reconnect power.
Check drain pump.
Check the pressure switch.
Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic Test or any cycle.

SUDS error on Neptune washer

It means that there is too much soap in the machine most of the time. Give it time for the suds to go down then try to run it through again. Try using a little less soap later on. Front loaders need less soap than top loaders.
