Somehow my original post got piggybacked on to someone else's. Here's my original post -
My brother in law bumped our ceiling mounted projector and it fell. He caught it on his back, and it kind of rolled down his side slowly with him grabbing at it, then landed on the floor. (from about his knee) We plugged it back in and it comes on and the light goes to green. Notevision comes on the screen and then it shuts off and the light goes to flashing red. After reading some posts, I took it back down and cleaned the filters out, they were dust-filled. But it still does exactly the same thing. Can anyone help?
SOURCE: Dropped PROJECTOR and now it won't turn on.
I think this projector uses a color wheel. It's literally a wheel a transparent wheel divided into different pie shaped colored sections.
I am not an expert (or even close) on these proejctors, but I would guess that a fall like this would cause a mechanical problem and the wheel is a mechanical part. If it's not allowed to rotate properly it could be the problem.
If you're in a brave mood you might open it up and see if the wheel is able to spin freely.
Good luck.
