Sounds like a circuit breaker. im sure by now you have double checked your work? make sure all your connections are tight. check any inline fuses or for a tripped curcuit. often times these things are so simple that you miss them completely, im guilty of that myself.

Older leisure bay tub. only a few buttons on topside panel work as they should. temp control buttons switch from economy to standard, cant raise or lower temp. Topside panel or control board?

Top side control. 90% sure by your description of problem. Buy the topside, plug it in and try it before you do full install. If it doesn't work you can return it. Most places won't take back a PC Board.

Do I have the correct controller for my Hot Tub? I have a Jacuzzi Lexus L.C. with a Balboa F1089R1A processor. I ordered a topside control panel online and received a Balboa VL701S but nothing is working...

Curios, why did you order another control panel? I need some history, when it worked, how it failed, any other information like if it was moved or rewired for power...etc.

Jacuzzi hot tub will not reach temp pumps do run?

If your hot tub is running but NOT heating then you need to look at a couple of things.
First, on the topside, is the heat indicator light on?
If it is on and the tub is not heating then the temp sensor or the high limit sensor is not working and need to be replaced.

Heat pump?

There could be several issues at work here.

  • First, is the heat indicator light showing on the topside?
  • Is the pump running but temp is not rising?
  • Any error codes displayed on the topside panel?

The drop in water temperature could be caused by a faulty temp sensor or faulty high limit sensor.

Check those items out and see what you come up with.

I just bought an old spa from someone and the control panel is not turning on. It was rebuilt a while back and according to the original owner it was working, and when I drained it it appeared it was being...

If you are SURE there is correct power up to the spa pack you need to check to see that the topside control is plugged into the board.
if it is plugged in, it is either the 24volt transformer supplying the topside control, or the topside control is failed.
Did you hook up the hot tub?
Most common cause of topside complete failure is connecting to an improper power supply. This will immediately fry the transformer, and also maybe the topside control. It you are luck there would be a small 2 amp fuse next to the transformer.
If the whole board is without power, but you know power is going into it, it could be the main 50 amp fuse, which is usually white and about 1.25" long

The topside control panel is dysfunctional for turning on the jets. The on/off button doesn't work. The lights and temperature buttons work ok. The on/off button doesn't click on/off like the others.

It may be a bad control pad (topside) or control box (mounted behind the pump under the tub). I have replaced three bellavista control pad and boxes in the past 2 weeks. If you plan on keeping the tub have both the box and topside replaced. You can check the topside by gently prying it off the tub with a stiff putty knife or a blade of some kind, be very careful and take your time. When you have removed the topside, check the circuit board attached to the cable, if there is any corrosion on the board the topside is bad. It will cost 200.00 less shipping, the control box will cost 320.00 or more less shipping. topside part no. M465000 Control box part no. S474000 Both can be found on the internet under their part numbers.

Redout on jacuzzi spa model j340 has --- code.has been working

The condition you see on the topside control is known as "watchdog" Which usually means that the spa thinks it's "overheating"
Turn off the power to the spa for a couple of minutes, then restart, Watch the topside control if the temp. starts to climb & read a lot hotter than the actual water temp. Then it goes into watchdog, most likely you have a bad temp sensor. In some cases just resetting the spa will clear the watchdog & everything works fine. (Voltage fluctuations, "spikes" can freak out the electronics & the tub goes into watchdog to protect itself) If the spa immediately goes into watchdog when you reset it, you might have a bad board. (Let's pray it's not) 90% of the time it's a bad temp. sensor.
