If it's a laptop keyboard:
Check if the caps lock or number lock lights work. If so, shut the laptop down or if necessary remove power cable and battery. Wait a moment then reconnect and turn on again. Try pressing esc, del f1, f2 f10 and f12 immediately, to see if you get any messages or new screens come up. If you do the keyboard itself is working. Turn off and back on again. If all is working great, if it only doesn't work at windows/OS X then the problem is software.

If it's a PC then try unplugging the keyboard and plugging it into a different USB port. Wait a couple of minutes to see if the number caps and scroll lock lights flash. If they do, it should work. If not try a different keyboard, or try that one in a different PC.

Try cleaning the keys on the keyboard. Blow them out with a can of air, or vaccum.

Battery if wireless if corded do what they said about repluging it in make sure there's a setting in your BIOS activated that supports plug and play default drivers it should still work if it worked before

worse case go into safemode try to check driver settings check its recognised uninstall and reinstall drivers use the CD that came with it and reinstall drivers

If you can't find the CD then get a secondary computer find your keyboard serial model number (it's normally on the back of the keyboard) then copy and paste Google look for drivers

Find drivers from manufacturer website get on USB or something doesn't matter -- copy drivers over to computer install if not battery related

If you have a cordless keyboard sometimes the drivers won't load properly try plugging in a corded keyboard into a USB port this should work as it has a plug and play built into the boot programme

Key board 4000 not working, mouse work, replaced the batteries

Try using CTRL, ALT, DELETE. It sounds like you may have locked your
keyboard by accident. Once you hit CTRL, ALT, DELETE, it will bring up the
log in page. Simply enter your password, if any, and you should be good to
go.

CANT ENTER MY PASSWORD TO GET IN MY COMPUTER KEYS NOT TYPING ON SCREEN ITS LIKE THE WIRELESS KEY BOARD IS NOT RESPONDING

My advice would be to put new batteries in the keyboard and see if that works, failing that, pick up a wired keyboard and mouse to log in to your system then re-connect the wireless set to re-install the drivers.

Logitech easycall mouse works but the keyboard will not

I had the same problem. Some keys on the keyboard would work, others not. It seemed to happen after an update to the SetPoint software. I got it fixed! I tried everything and in the end this is what worked:

1. I started the computer and obviously could not log in.
2. My mouse worked, my standby key worked, but no other keys.
3. I used the mouse to activate the on-board keyboard in Vista (left bottom corner).
4. I put in my password and logged in.
5. I opened up an app (Excel in my case) to try to type something in.
6. As soon as I hit a key a Logitech wizard for encrypted communication came up!!! It asked me to press the connect button and then enter a code it displayed (keyboard worked at this point).

From this point on the keyboard worked!!

Note to Logitech.... great job on the extra security... bad job on the implementation... if your wizard runs after a PC is rebooted that has login passowrd protection.... how are the users supposed to log in??
Note: My logitech upgrade hung... with mouse and keyboard becoming unresponsive so I had to do the hard power off... maybe the wizard was meant to run after the upgrade before I had to force a restart, but this is something that should be taken into account as well.

Wireless Keyboard not connecting

I opened up the Logitech Mouse and Keyboard Settings, turned my keyboard off, changed out the batteries and turned it back on. It then detected the Keyboard and asked for a password, I entered in the password, it said it was rebooting it and asked for another password which I entered (both passwords were given to me in the Settings). Now it is working just fine! Not sure if you have tried this but it might work for you.

The keyboard, built in and external mouse do not respond.

If BIOS menu has User password set then nothing will work until you type in the password. The keyboard will appear not to be working until correct pwd is typed. Try entering your password like this
pwd1<Enter> pwd2<Enter> pwd3<Enter>
where pwd1 is your guess at the password and <Enter> is when you press the <Enter> key on keyboard.
