Make sure the cable is hooked up then press ok on your remote (or enter). If you have your tv hooked up a different way (like hdmi) just change the tv source to the correct one.
Either LCD transistor got moist or the video chipset got condensation. Keep TV on standby to dry it out. Unless there is also mechanical damage to the lcd screen on the edge..
When you turn the plasma on do you get a solid indicator light on the front of the tv? You also get sound just fine, but a blank screen and no picture. I'm still looking for a definite answer, but I repaired a Hitachi 42edt41a that had the exact same problems. On that plasma there was an X-sustain board and a Y-sustian board that needed to be replaced. Hopefully someone else can give their assistance as well.
needs a Y-Sustain board, about a 300 dollar part, unless you have a warinty, also try turning the tv on, after you get a green light, unplug the tv, after 15 seconds plug it back in, sometimes will make tv come back on
