Sounds like a High Voltage Leak Relay is Clicking......You are going to need a Trained Tech.....A fire hazard and electrical shock hazard exist so be careful............
What type of connections are you using? HDMI? Component? Composite? What audio? HDMI? Optical Digital? Analog audio?
Are you saying you get video from the PS3, but it is in Black&White only? Is there an NTSC/PAL selector on the PS3? If so, it may be set wrong. Set to NTSC if you're in the United States.
I would first check for swollen capacitors on the power supply board. This model has about 9 under rated capacitors that usually go bad. The original caps are 3300 uF rated at 10 Vdc., and they should be replaced with 3300 uF capacitors rated at 16 Volts DC, 105 degree types. A failure on this board could also affect the other boards in the set so correcting this problem may not remove the symptoms.
No power? Unplug power cord- safety first!
open backcover
check powersupply- top center right is p.s.
top left side of powersupply you'll see 5 capacitor 3300uF 10V.
see any pop up on top? replace it All with same rate or 16v is O.K.
do not use temperature rate 75c. Use 105C.
if you know how to solder. you could save $300 at least!
