SOURCE: Changing Ink in the Canon P170-DH Printing Desk Top Calculator?

The manual for the Canon P170-DH calculator is found on the canon usa web site. It is 22 mg in size, but prints out to 4 pages in English, Spanish and French.

According to the manual: Use only Ink Roller CP-13.
There are four figures showing the steps, so you'll have to imagine it.
1. Turn power switch off.
2. Remove the printer cover (Figure1).
3. Hold the tab of the ink roller. Lift the ink roller out of the base (Figure2).
4. Insert the new ink roller into position. Push down on the center of the ink roller until it locks into place (Figure3).
5. Replace the printer cover (Figure4).

Print out the manual for yourself and put it in a safe place.

How to change the ink cartridge in a Canon iP1900 printer please

1•Protect your desk, printer stand or work surface by placing an old newspaper in front of or next to the printer. The newspaper will provide you with a place to work without getting ink anywhere you don't want it. It seems as though no matter how careful or neat you are, a little bit of ink always manages to escape when replacing an ink cartridge.
•2
Prepare the new ink cartridge for installation. Remove the replacement cartridge for your Canon printer from all of its packaging. You may need scissors to remove the heavy wrapper. Leave the protective orange cap or tape in place for now. Set the new cartridge aside on the newspaper.
•3
Remove the old ink cartridge from the Canon printer. With the printer on, open the front door or panel of the printer. Wait a second or two and the ink cartridge holder should move to the opening where it is accessible. If it does not move, shut the door, turn the printer off for a moment, turn it back on and try again. Lift the small lever that secures the ink cartridges within their holder. On most Canon printers, it is colored green and located on the right side of the ink cartridge holder. Gently lift the old ink cartridge out of the printer.
•4
Place the new ink cartridge in the printer. Remove the plastic cap or tape protecting the ink cartridge, being careful not to touch the black and gold "sensor" area of the cartridge. Gently but firmly push the new cartridge into the empty slot left where you removed the old ink cartridge. The label should be facing outward. You should feel the cartridge pop into place. Then push the lever back down that you lifted in Step 3. Close the printer door. Use paper towel or wet wipes to clean any ink from your hands.

Brother MFC 240C has error message ''NO BLACK CARTRIDGE'' even though new cartridge is installed.

I learned this one from a Brother tech, and it usually works:
  1. Put your machine where you can easily reach the power plug.
  2. Lay a few layers of paper on the desk beside it to protect the desk from ink.
  3. With the machine plugged in, remove all four inks. Stand them upright on those papers you laid down.
  4. Close the top.
  5. Unplug the machine and wait 15 seconds before plugging it back in.
  6. Of course, the machine will complain that there is no ink installed. It should tell you which color it want you to install first. Raise the top and install all inks, in the order it asks.
  7. Lower the top when all the inks are in, and the machine should return to normal.
These machines detect ink by shining a light through a clear rib in the cartridge. What you've done resets the machine's threshold between light and dark, so it recognizes full cartridges again.
If it doesn't work, try it once more, and you might still get lucky. otherwise, you may have a defective cartridge, or you may need a new main board$$$.

My HP Deskject 932C started dripping a large quantity of black ink from many openings in the bottom plate of the printer. The ink cartridges have been removed, and black ink has been leaking out slowly for...

If you were using an original cartridge, contact HP and they will probably ask you to mail in the faulty cartridge.

If you were using a refilled cartridge you might have to buy a new printer.

Smeared lines

Okay, this was the problem I posted a few days ago. It's fixed now, so in case you have the same problem with smearing, here's what the help desk from Canon suggested: Open the cover and remove the ink cartridges. There is a gray lever in front of the cartridges. Lift this lever and the printhead can be easily removed.
Our printhead had a buildup of black ink on the surface. I carefully removed this with rubbing alcohol. I let the printhead dry and replaced everything. No more smearing. Imagine a help-desk that actually helped!

Hi, its sad to say but the printer sounds that needed to be send to the nearest service center in your area. You already reseat & replace the ink cartridge and issue still present. Please call your printer manufacturer so that they can give you more options aside from sending it to service center. Thank you so much,
