I had this problem, u need to earth a single cable, i think its either brown or green, basically the system wont let u watch films while driving, so bring up the screen which says (parking off) n touch the wires to some metal until it switches to (parking on) shud work then

Maybe there is a break in the cable internally that supplies the video, try another interconnect lead that you know works and we can then take another look at it if there is still a problem

SOURCE: bypass for video on a kenwood ddx-512 car dvd player

jgranados711 is correct. i just shove the green wire into the mounting sleeve. an alligator clip would make it easy. don't get pulled over or crash and die though. :)

I have a kenwood ddx512 double indash and when i put in a dvd i can hear it but the screen shows blue with parking off in white letters why is that

needs to be connected to the park brake circut....when the wire gets a ground from the parking brake the screen will show picture...the reason is that it is against the law to have videos play in the front seat while the vehicle is in motion.

Video does not show when playing a dvd

there was a parking brake wire. i think its light blue or something. its going to be under your dash. or if you didnt connect it to anything its just laying there. simple solution. just ground out the wire. find the wire cut it and find the nearest bolt. unscrew the bolt a little bit and shove the wire underneath. problem solved. :)

Bypass for video on a kenwood ddx-512 car dvd player

On the wiring harness there is a green parking sensor wire (PRK SW) that you have to hook up. All you have to do is ground that anywhere on the chassis of the car then youll be set.

I want to have the dvd player work while driving the car.

Kenwood simply requires grounding the parking brake wire.
Take the "safety" wire and ground it to your Head Unit Ground.

Ddx512 Kenwood Parking off problem

Indash DVD units are programmed not to allow DVD's to play while the car is in motion. The unit only allows DVD viewing when the car is parked and the parking brake activated.

To get around this, you simply splice the parking break wire from the radio to the -NEG wire of the radio.

If this doesnt help let me know.

Video output not working

it sound to me like you have a broken connection on yourvideo out jack on the main unit becouse you say the lead is fine and the tv screens work with another unit.this can be caused by the plug being pulled out in a wrong angle. ask an audio dealer to chech the solder connections in the unit to see if they are making a connection with the pcb(printed circuit board. hope this helps
