If the projector is not getting a source it might go on standby maybe check where you plug it in.
Projectors require quite a bit of power and should be on a single loop/outlet not hooked up to a powerbar with more things on it.
You can download/print the manual by following the link below. I can't tell from the pics what type power cable the unit uses, but you can likely purchase one by contacting COMPAQ customer service through the web site www.hp.com. Hope this helps.
If you connect the data projector to your laptop and power it up first then your laptop, the video will switch to the data projector automatically.
If you had powered up the laptop first then you can divert the video information to the external video port/data projector by holding the Fn key and then press F4 key.
You can toggle between the LCD screen, the data projector or both LCD and data project together using the Fn & F4 keys.
You're going to need a conversion dongle that goes from the Mini-DVI to VGA.
Then:
Connect one end of the projector signal cable to the Video Graphics Array (VGA) connector on the projector.
Connect
the other end of the projector signal cable to the Digital Video
Interface (DVI) connector or VGA connector on the notebook computer and
tighten the screws.
Connect the projector power cord to the power cord connector on the projector.
Connect the other end of the power cord to an electrical outlet that is easily accessible and close to the projector.
Turn on the projector first, then turn on the computer.
hi all... i have this projector and it boosts up flashes the blue screen and sometimes the projected image too. then goes to standby mode.
I have managed to keep it going enough to see the problem for myself. Here is what i did.. lye the projector on its left side while a cool blower blows through the left side of the lamp housing. fire it up and it will stay on. I went to the menu and did a factory reset as well as lamp hours reset. checked the lamp hours and it was at zero. so its never going to stay on for long for one reason.
As the lamps get older the emit more heat and therefore cause the unit to shutdown. so if you want it to work your going to have to order that lamp. The cheapest i found is from austrailia link off ebay below.
