SOURCE: Sony cyber-shot DSC-S500

If you open the camera up, whick I know is an intricate task, and take the screen down but don't unplug it, at the right bottom their is something that resembles a watch battery, if you can figure out how to get it off and find a replacement it will be fixed... This battery serves a a sort of memory power, even though you have batteries, this battery keeps the memory for the camera's software, so inturn without it the camera is dead in the water. this is fixable!

SOURCE: NEED DOWNLOAD FOR SONY CYBER-SHOT DSC-W80, I LOST

Would you like to open your pictures from your Sony Cybershot to your computer? Your cybershot cam is usually plug and play so you dont need a software for that. All you do is to plug in your camera to your computer's usb port using the usb cable. When the computer detected the new usb device, open a Windows Explorer. Right click your windows Start button, and choose Explore. From the list of Drives from the left, you need to find the Drive letter associated with your camera. Just click on that and it will show you the files on the right. The pictures are located somewhere inside those folders. You just need to click and drag them to your computer's local drive.

Should you have any questions, please let me know. Good luck!

SOURCE: Sony Cyber-shot Will not power up

Your problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

If this response helps, please take a moment to post a rating for me. "Very Helpful" would be appreciated.

SOURCE: hello, my cyber-shot DSC-P73 will not stay on

If the camera hs recently been dropped it may have lens damage that is preventing the camera from powering up. If it hasn't been dropped, your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may need to be replaced, or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

Testimonial: "Thank you BillB-SA, i have cleaned as suggested so can only assume lens damage by dropping by persons unknown. Oh woe is me!"

SOURCE: When I switch it on,

Hello and Welcome to Fixya
C:13:01 memory stick error message indicates a Self diagnostic message. In C:13:01 the issue may be with the Internal Memory or with the Memory Stick.
To solve it try the following solutions

Format error with the Internal Memory which can be corrected by formatting the Internal Memory.
If it is issue with memory stick then turning the power off and on again or taking out and inserting the "Memory Stick" several times may help in resolving the issue. Error may be because of Unformatted "Memory Stick" which can be resolved by formatting the Memory Stick in the Camera If it not remove by formatting in the camera then connect it to PC and tried to format it again but either FAT instead of FAT32 which is the regular format and then reinserted the memory stick and formatted it with the camara. Now it will be solved if it still exist then it means Memory Stick is broken or not compatible which can be resolved by inserting a new compatible Memory stick
I hope it will help you
Your Rating as Four Thumbs which are given below to this solution will appreciate me
Thanks

Same as one that's been posted... When I change to picture mode on my Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P73 it automatically powers off. By changing back to view mode it's possible to power on again. Not the batteries....

RESET your camera. Refer to your camera manual for reset instructions. It may require to push a reset button or check this link (copy and paste in your browser windows IE or Firefox):

Adjuster tight

Of course there is a chance that contact spray (non greasy) can solve the problem. If not, there is also an ultimate option to change the control switch block part number: 147838411 If you need more info please advice

Still it sounds like weak batteries. Be sure to use either rechargeable batteries ( charge for a minimum of 14 hours ) or alkaline. DO NOT USE "heavy duty" carbon-zinc cells - they're only good for low power equipment.
