While I was out of town, a friend of mine put some food in my freezer. When I got back, I realized she didn't close the freezer door completely. I dumped the ice in the bucket and now it is not making ice. Can you please help?
Thank You
My son left the freezer door ajar one morning; by the end of the day, the heat exchanger turn into a block of ice (in trying to cool the space, the compressor was on all day and freezes up the moisture in the air on the heat exchanger).
I had to turn off the fridge, de-install rear panel to gain access to the exchanger, and pour hot water on the ice to hasten the melting process (use lots of towels). Next step was clean up and turn the fridge back on. all was fine.
You may have to unplug the the unit and thaw it out with a hair drier, and get everything dry. Then close it up and set the temp, and plug it in.It will take a while before it will start producing ice again normally. If I can help, let me know.
