Beyond looking at the manual BEFORE SERVICING...

Your number comes up as EXERCISE EQUIPMENT... Interesting only because your question is posted under
WEATHER EQUIPMENT...

Doesn't actually matter...
batteries all share the same maladies when
NOT PROPERLY tended...

Take the NEW batteries BACK out ...
test them (first EASIEST RULE)...

Then take a SERIOUS LOOK at the contacts...
if there is nothing OBVIOUS on the contacts... take a softh lead pencil and scribble gently over the high point... re-install the batteries (paying particular attention to their POLARITY)... AND try it again...

Read the manual... reset the unit as directed.

Q-Tip tiny...!!!

If here is OBVIOUS corrosion... comment me back & I can direct a few steps with TINY (tiny!) amounts of vinegar that can be used to remove corrosion... cleaning with TINY amounts of alcohol... and protecting with TINY... TINY amounts of white lithium grease...

Hope this helps!!

Changed battery and changed all detectors and they still cherp

Try installing all new batteries. Latest installs have the individual units also hard wired to each other so that when one goes off the others are triggered. When a battery is weak in unit it often causes the main unit to chirp along with some of the others in sympathy. If still no improvement and all batteries are brand new, then either get new units or disconnect the hard wiring between all units.
They will still work but without the nasty global feature.

Phantom bell rings on Siemens wirreless door bell chime jsjs-204, I do not have instructions

You may need to change the frequency of the chime. In this model, you need to remove the batteries from the receiver unit and wait for a while. Then replace the batteries. The doorbell unit should automatically set itself to a different frequency once you press the button, which will(hopefully) solve the problem.

It seems impossible to find the instruction manual for the doorbell. But see http://oddsnsods.net/blog/?p=68 who had a similar problem with a different Siemens model, which works on the same principles. (I can't seem to be able to remove the battery from the door bell unit on the jsjs204, but it reset itself after changing the batteries in the receiver).

Kidde smoke detector without a door or tab for back up battery - where do I find the battery so I can change it. It has been beeping for close to 39 hours. Installer did not leave a users manual. (The...

Some smoke detectors are AC-only, so there is no battery. Dual-power units typically have the battery compartment on the back of the unit, where it attaches to the wall or ceiling.

Most units must be removed from their mounting bracket to change the battery, as the battery cover is on the back.

You rotate the unit about 1/2 turn counter clockwise, and it should come off the wall/ceiling. If it has an AC power connection, you unplug that so you can change the battery more easily.

Without battery, BIOS just gets reset to default and should not effect boot. There is a possibility that you failed to reconnect something important when disassembling the unit.

What exactly happens when the unit turns on?
