Beyond looking at the manual BEFORE SERVICING...
Your number comes up as EXERCISE EQUIPMENT... Interesting only because your question is posted under
WEATHER EQUIPMENT...
Doesn't actually matter...
batteries all share the same maladies when
NOT PROPERLY tended...
Take the NEW batteries BACK out ...
test them (first EASIEST RULE)...
Then take a SERIOUS LOOK at the contacts...
if there is nothing OBVIOUS on the contacts... take a softh lead pencil and scribble gently over the high point... re-install the batteries (paying particular attention to their POLARITY)... AND try it again...
Read the manual... reset the unit as directed.
Q-Tip tiny...!!!
If here is OBVIOUS corrosion... comment me back & I can direct a few steps with TINY (tiny!) amounts of vinegar that can be used to remove corrosion... cleaning with TINY amounts of alcohol... and protecting with TINY... TINY amounts of white lithium grease...
Hope this helps!!
