Find the Gmail icon in the Apps list.
Here is the most confusing part. The icon on the left is the Gmail app. The icon on the right is the icon for all your other e-mail accounts.
2Tap the Gmail icon.
Because your phone does not know if you have a Gmail account, it asks you whether this is a new account.
3Tap the Existing button on the screen.
This brings up this screen.
4Enter your existing Gmail user ID and password.
Go ahead and type your e-mail account address and your password. When you are ready, tap Done on the keyboard.
You may get a pop-up re-confirming that you agree with the terms of use and all that legal stuff. Tap OK. You'll see lots of flashing lights and whirling circles while your phone and your Gmail account get to know each other.
If everything is correct, your phone and your account get acquainted and become best friends. After a few minutes, they are ready to serve your needs. If you have a problem, you probably mistyped something. Try retyping your information in again.
From this point on, any e-mail you get on your Gmail account will also appear on your phone!
How to Set Up Your Existing Gmail Account on Your...
If you already have Gmail account...
Go To > Menu > Messages, Click Settings > Email
Then Touch >Email Setup Wizard. Notice will ocuur Touch > OK
Give name to your account E.g Gmail. Enter your email id : [email protected] , Then Enter Password for your account.
Incoming Server type : POP3
Incoming Server : pop.gmail.com
Outgoing Server SMTP : smtp.gmail.com
Secured Connection : Off
Then touch OK & it will display your POP3email account configured successfully. Now press back button and tap on Email Accounts, then touch the email account you have just created. There some more option than above you just have to edit that.
Secured Connection: Off
POP3 Port: 995
SMTP Port : 587
Now, Tick The option APOP Login.
Download Limit: 500
Secured connection: SSL (Choose SSL for second option only & not for first option.)
Retrieving Option: Choose Subject only
Keep On Server: Tick
My Address: yourname @gmail.com
Username /Password : same as you entered above
POP before SMTP : Dont Tick
SMTP Auth: Tick
Same as POP3/IMAP4 : Tick
And Finally Save All Settings.
Step to setup an email account on Samsung wave:
1. Press Menu
2. Select My Accounts
3. Choose the type of email account you want to
configure . For Gmail, select "Google "
4. Enter your e - mail address and password and
click " Next "
5. A new window pops up. Select apply without
making any changes.
You will need to configure your
Gmail for IMAP or POP pushing first before authorization is given to your Wave
to accept the pushed mail.
Login to Gmail -> Setting (top right hand corner) -> Forwarding and
POP/IMAP -> Check Enable POP for all mail arriving from now on and check
Enable IMAP.
You are done with configuring GMail side.
Now, add your google mail account under "My Account".
Enter your email (username will be filled up automatically), then your
password.
Next, when you hit the next screen, DO NOT CONFIGURE ANYTHING. Simply
"Set".
Make sure u have POP and SMTP enabled in your mail account before
you try this and yahoo users make sure u enter your mail address as that of
your domain
