Whether a scanner can be used without catriadges in all-in-one?

I have lexmark x3350 all-in-one printer... i need to scan a document but its showing an error msg 'clear the carrier jam'........ what does that mean???
i haven't placed cartridges in the printer but i just wanna use scanner... can i use it without catridges ?? n how to clear that msg... have restarted it but... same msg s being displayed.......plz help...........

The printer wont function properly if it is jammed whether you only want to use the scanner. Try following the instructions in this site:

Please download the scan driver from support.lexmark.com. After installing the scan driver, please check the scanner under Imaging Device from device manager. If scanner shows under imaging devices, open the scanning program and scan a document.

All in one scanner does not appear, installed without CD

You can download the scan software from the Lexmark website. However, the Lexmark OCR scan software for scanning documents can only be installed using the installation cd. If you want, you can contact Lexmark Technical Support to request for it. Thanks.

Can't detect printer when scanning MBP

Maybe the scan software is not installed yet. The Lexmark scan software can only be installed using the installation cd that came with the printer. It's not available for download online since it's a big file. If you don't have the cd or you lost it, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support for assistance.

What is a scanner and how do i use it on my lexmark 5650 copier?

Hello. The scanner enables you to scan and print photos, text documents, magazine articles, newspapers, and other publications. You can also scan a document for faxing. The scan software must be installed in your computer. Use the installation cd that came with the printer to install the software. When I scan a 1-page letter typed in MS Word from my Lexmark X3350, the PDF docuement is about 2MB - too large??

Go to scanner options, settings

Please change the resolution, set it to 75.

also please check if the setting set to original size x 2 or anything.

It should be original size also.

I've installed the software for my x3550 printer, and when I try to scan a picture via wireless, I select my laptop and it shows on the display: "Downloading Applications List". After that it displays:...

Hi. This printer is wireless for the print function but not for the scan function, go figure. In order to scan you must hook up the printer to your puter via a USB wire.

I have a lexmark x3350 and the scanner wont scan

Alot of the X3350 all in ones have there scanners go bad if you still have a warranty for this printer then call Lexmark if not then you can go out and buy one for like $85.
