Dishwasher water draining????

We have a frigdaire dishwasher, less than a year old, and there seems to be an odour in the darn thing. Under the self-cleaning filter there is a pool of clean water. Should that be there??? Is that causing the possible smell??? The dishwasher is not located directly beside the sink, but is beside the lazy-susan (sp????). Any assistance???

Thanks

Is it normal for water to be under the self-cleaning filter??? I have read that it is, but our other frigidaire dishwasher never had water under the filter. Also, there are no food particles at the botom. It was clean. Any other suggestions???

Make sure the odor is coming from the dishwasher.
Pull the bottom basket out and check for food that might be stuck in it. And check for food particles in the bottom of the dishwasher.
Then pour some baking soda into the dish liquid compatment. Run it through a complete cycle. This should deodorize and clean the dishwasher. i hope it helps. Please remember to leave rating.

How do i get rid of the rotten odour from my dishwasher

The dishwasher filter/trap has accumulated food particles that are causing the smell. Remove the filter and clean away any food particles that may be present. Dishwasher drain hose is kinked/bent causing waste water to flow back into dishwasher. Straighten the drain hose to prevent the backflow of wastewater.https://removeandreplace.com/2018/07/18/dishwasher-smells-what-causes-my-dishwasher-to-smell/https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=How+do+i+get+rid+of+the+rotten+odour+from+my+dishwasher#kpvalbx=1

The auto drainage isn't working properly

You will need to check the drain hose to make sure that you don't have a partial blockage. If you have an air gap check that to make sure it is not partially stopped up. If you don't have an air gap check to make sure your drain hose is not lower than your sink drain allowing water from the sink to drain back into the dishwasher.

take a shop vac and attach it to the ond of the drain hose to remove the water and if you are checking the drain pump then it has to be pulled out from under the cabinet.
if the unit is less than a year old just set it up for service it will not cost you anything

GE Dishwasher fills with water but does not "spray water" on dish

Here are a few things that might help you out, first is you could have a bad heating element in your dish washer, when it fills with water it has to reach a certain temperature before continuing to the next cycle, next thing is you could have a bad thermostat, or your timer is defective.

Dishwasher

Hello tytsai2005
Welcome,

You said,At the end of a wash, some water still remains at the center of the bottom

You have a clogged dishwasher drain, or drain line.
Otherwise your Caloric's pump is pooping out on you!
Is the model # CDC550CL or CDC550CW ?

Here are 4 things that I believe can be the reason for your machine not pumping all the water out!

1. Defective Motor
print.gif Print save.gif Save to list email.gif E-mail to a Friend help.gif Diagnostic Help Rate Article Helpful Not Helpful Was this helpful?
How can we improve?
The water pump is driven by the drive motor. If the motor is defective, the pump will not operate and the water will remain in the tub.

2. Defective Pump
Most but not all dishwashers incorporate a reversible motor. By using a pump impeller and wash impeller, the action of washing and draining is accomplished by the reversing of the motor. If the drain impeller in the pump is defective, the water will not drain. Check the pump impeller for proper operation.

3.Drain Line
Check the drain line for kinks. If the line checks out visually, it could be an obstruction in the line

4.Garbage Disposal

If a garbage disposal has recently been installed, make sure the knock out for the dishwasher drain hose has been removed. You should also make sure that no items under the sink have been pushed into the drain hose. Any kink or crimp in the hose can cause it to stop draining.

How old is the dishwasher ?
Here is an interesting article I just read, that you may find interesting

Repair or replace?

When to pull the plug on your old dishwasher

Typically, you'll also find a troubleshooting section for more-serious problems
in the owner's manual.

Should you pay for a repair or buy a new model?
The answer depends mostly on the age of your dishwasher,
how much you bought it for,and the cost of the repair.

Follow these guidelines:

When a repair makes sense.

If your dishwasher is under warranty or less than four years old ,
paying for a repair makes sense.
Note that dishwashers under warranty might require service from a factory-authorized technician;
readers have found them on a par with independent repairers.

When a repair might be a wise choice.

If your dishwasher is out of warranty and is four to seven years old,
it might make sense to pay for a repair. Customers generally pay $100 to $200 for a repair.
But you might want to buy a new model even at this stage,
given that today's models have added features.
Higher energy efficiency is another plus: Energy Star-qualified models made after April 28, 2008,
are 43 percent more efficient than conventional models built before 2001 and 56 percent
more efficient than those built before 1993.

When it pays to replace.

The repair costs more than half the price of a comparable new dishwasher.
Data also shows that it doesn't pay to fix a less-expensive dishwasher
eight or more years old.

Thanks to better recycling programs, less than 10 percent
of dishwashers you replace are likely to end up in a landfill.

Let me know how you do!
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help!
