Did you check the bottom of the sweeper to make sure you didn't pick up a rock or pieces of a toy or ect.... That might had gotten stuck in the sweeper. If it's not that! 1week old, you might consider exchanging it for another.

I have a Shark Navigator Liftaway Delux. It has no suction power and is making a loud hissing noise from the hole on the right side bottom of canister

Shark uses a suction bypass valve on their units. The reason is the vacuum air cools the motor and if there is an obstruction in the line, airflow stops and the valve opens to keep the motor cool. The sound you hear is the bypass being open. You have an obstruction somewhere.

Shark nv350 making loud noise when switched for carpet

HI, it's Jim from Crucial Vacuum!

If your Shark NV350 vacuum is making loud noises when switched to carpet then there are a few parts of your vacuum you can check to resolve the problem.

First thing let's check your vacuums canister. The idea is to prevent clogs and anything that will obstruct your vacuum from operating properly, and running smoothly without noise. You'll want to empty your canister after every use.

Secondly, let's check out your brush roll. Is there hair wrapped around the roll itself, or any noticeable debris that would prevent the brush roll from turning? If so remove it and manually rotate the brush roll to help unearth any hidden clogs behind the roll.

While you're examining your vacuums brush roll take a look at the belt as well. If the belt isn't wrapped around the brush roll properly this could be causing the noise. The belt should have a good bit of tension on it in order for the brush roll to turn properly. Your vacuums belt should be replaced roughly every 3 months. So be sure it's on properly and has a good bit of tension.

Shark navigator making strange noise. Still have suction, doesn't make noise when beater bar not moving. What could be the problem?

HI, it's Jim from Crucial Vacuum!

If your Shark Navigator vacuum is only making a strange noise when the brush roll is turning then the two things to consider and examine would be the brush roll itself as well as the belt.

First off lets look at the brush roll itself. Right off the bat is there any noticeable debris caught in it? You're mainly looking for long carpet fibers, or even strands of hair? If so try using a scissor to cut the blockage away. Then, manually rotate the brush roll to uncover further clogs. When examining your brush roll take note of the condition of the bristles. Are they loose? If so this would be a good time to change your brush roll entirely. There should be two screws holding the plate onto your Shark Navigator. Use a screw driver to remove these screws to gain access to the brush roll and belt.

The second part to check would be your Shark Navigator's belt. With use the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roll. Lesser tension diminishes the brush roller's turn rate and speed. So if your belt feels loose as well replace that. A general rule would be that you're going to want to replace your belt about every 6 months. And if your belt is really loose this could be causing a noise when your brush roll is active.

My Shark vacuum is making a weird noise how to fix it

HI, it's Jim from Crucial Vacuum!

If your Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum is making a loud noise while it's on then there's definitely a clog somewhere. Here' s a few places you should check prior to plugging in the vacuum and turning it on.

The first place to check would be the brush roll and belt. If you notice visible debris, like strands of hairs, or long carpet fibers this could be catching on the brush roll and causing it not to turn fully. Be sure to clear this debris from the brush roll and manually spin the brush roll a few times after you do so to help unearth and any other clogs. This may be the reason for the noise and its crucial that this part of your vacuum is clog free.

Another part of your vacuum to check would be your hose. Detach the hose and stretch it out as much as you can to see if any debris or clumps of dust are stuck inside. Using a broom handle can help if you see a clog, but it won't come out after you've stretched out the hose.

Another big factor would be a dirty filter in your vacuum. Most manufacturers recommend you change your filter on average every 3-6 months. However, it is recommended to change your filter even earlier depending on usage and allergy care. The cleaner your filters the less debris will get stuck in your vacuum, causing less clogs and overall less odd noises while vacuuming.

My Shark navigator is making a very loud swooshing sound out of side of canister.

I had the same noise coming out of the side of the canister although I would specify it as a sucking noise. The noise is coming out of a hole on the side of the canister. If you block the hole it sounds normal. This lead me to believe that there was no damage. After further research I found that this whole is actually a release when air cannot make it through the top of the canister. Simple resolution. Take the canister out of its holster and clean both the top part and the metal cone inside and your vacuum will work good as new :) ~=MaGiC=~

Where is the reset button on shark navigator. vacuumed throw rug, and bar wont move

I'm not sure it has one. Check the owner's manual though.
Try this. Turn off vacuum. Unplug it. Make sure there are no clogs in main hose, power head intake tube, or intake inside tank. Plug it in, turn it on, and let us know what happens.
